It will. I don't know how they managed it but Subaru actually went backwards in the oil burning department with the FA20, so much so they got sued for it. Even after they "fixed" the problem they still drink oil like a rotary.

since the cylinders are level with the ground oil will seep through the rings easier, more so if the car sits
