Hey guys my sisters jeep is kind of fucked up. Cranks strong but won't start.
All fuses and relays are good
Is getting spark as I sprayed carb cleaner in the throttle body and it chugged along for a few seconds before all the carb cleaner fumes were wasted
So basically I know its a fuel delivery issue but not sure if its the injectors them selves or possibly the fuel pump.
Thankfully the fuel pump on this thing is pretty easy to get too if I need to swap it out but what proper diagnosis should I use to determine between the possibilities?
I'm only a certified youtube mechanic.
Its a 2006 with 166k miles. Has never had the fuel pump done prior which makes me lean more towards that.
It drove fine up until parked but would not start the next morning.
Thanks /o/

Well this her first issue in 100k miles and she does her oil about every 10k miles lmao. Its actually been fairly reliable.
clogged fuel filter

injectors very rarely go bad.
i think these are TBI so theres only one or two injectors right.
find the fuel pump and listen if it's running.
or put a pressure tester on the line.
check the fuse too.
or just buy a new one and try it, pain in the ass if in tank.

Both the four and six cylinder engines in the Wrangler are port injection by 2006, though both had TBI
It's either a fuel pump or a fuel filter that needs replacing
And change the oil more often than 10,000 miles

seconding this bc in all likelihood its the problem

Can you hear the pump run when you first turn the key on?
If so, do a fuel pressure test.
No/low pressure but the pump runs? Change the filter first so you're not dropping the tank. Still low, it's the fuel pressure regulator. Which I think is in-tank on these if other Chrysler vehicles are anything to go by.
If you can't hear the pump, check for voltage at the connector. If no power, look at the fuel pump relay.
If that's good, change the pump.

I mean, if there's power but no pump noise, change the pump.

would check this first since it should be easy and cheap

I bet the fuel tank is empty
I have a 92 jeep yj that had a crank no start issue once. In that it turned out ecm took a shit and died.

this, that era of Chrysler electronics is garbage
