The only real downsides to the S12 is that
1: They're rare. But if you can find one, they're super cheap.
2: there's virtually no aftermarket support. Any aftermarket parts have to be gotten for a different car and then made to work. It's common to stick the entire rear suspension from an S13 in there since it's easier to get parts for.
