A few turbos made it somehow because I've seen two for sale. My bro lubs his Metro(s) and we are building him a second from organ donors. We are experienced mechanics so no problem.
They are disturbingly good for darting through traffic, but there is a phenomenon we can't explain. We hit a lot of auctions using his Metro and whenever we get on the highway some asshole in a much faster vehicle will pull in front of us and slow down. It's bizarre. BMW, Mercedes, rice, Vettes, trucks... It doesn't matter.
I'm mostly a motorcycle and truck guy though my A1 series Scirocco was a great car, but Metros can be fin. Needs a Twingo nose kit for cuteness though.
Metros are great for learning how to work on cars. Metro forums are useful.

BTW my bros Metro is a 1997 bought new. Just turned 200K miles with plenty left to go.
If it can't run on nitromethane, it's a shit car.

We recently bought a Suzuki sidekick and it's super simple to work on. We're very satisfied with it. I'd love to find a cheap metro to beat around in.
