is being raced in an 24h endurance series.
Why is this? They seem like simple enough cars, you'd think they'd be able to take an endurance beating like an M3 or Cayman/911.
Why is the TIC Racing Mustang forced to represent the entire Mustang community in 2017 racing?

Maybe because VLN is the only series that races on a track that host a 24 hour race that would allow a mustang of that spec? it could race at the 24 hour of Daytona but the lowest class they allow for "GT" spec cars is GT3. the Mustang is only prepped for GT4 (and it actively races in that class in SCCA)
I'm guessing this race takes place in Europe so mustangs aren't as common as the M3/911 etc.

The Coyote engine is actually fairly advanced.
Another factor is probably that the manual transmission Ford uses on the 5.0L GT models is a weak Chinese Getrag copy.
And the Shelby GT350 uses the same manual transmission you get in a base model I4 turbo or V6 Chevy Camaro.
Shelby GT350 can't handle racing loads, haet soaking issues would ruin any racing efforts. Therefore no 24h GT350s.
TIC Racing is a fairly small team of friends and family and turning a GT350R into a racer would cost way too much money.

The heat soaking issues were on cars that people chose the wrong options for.

350R can, dunno about the regular version. Also are any sort of upgrades, even to cooling systems, tires, brake pads etc, not allowed?
When is /o/ entering a shitbox in the 24 hours of Nurburgring?

>not allowed
They are borderline required if they expect to last through a race, nevermind a given season, nevermind the actual 24 hour race.

Isn't there a 90s era Golf still racing?
>>16999420
That's what I expected, nothing off the showroom floor can handle hours and hours of track use.
>>16999418
did it years ago

Aren't cup cars straight from the factory? And the TCRs? And the GT3s?
>>16999425
This raced last year
>>16999444
Yes but they're already race-prepped.
