The 190E is fine but for the same price you can get the 300E, with more bucks you can get the 300CE, the 300E-24v, the 300CE-24v, you get more power, more space, the w124 is the portrait of what Mercedes Benz was on his golden years, meanwhile the w201 was just to brag you owned a MERCEDES BENZ, except those who would buy the 190D with turbo.
