Two of the big ones. And a 19 speed transmission.

IIRC the guy who bought the movie prop vehicle brings it to car meets etc. and the engine is bone-stock. But hey, when a "stand-alone fuel management system" costs 10k....
>>
>>16996235
a stock 350 can be drifted that well?
>>
>>16996235
>movie prop vehicle
>engine is bone-stock
Do you really think the prop vehicle was moved even one inch while filming? Do you really think the stunt cars for the driving shots weren't just a bunch of Fieros with different bodykits? Do you even Hollywood?
>>
>>16996352
they actually built shitload of identical cars and used them for stunts.
The car getting crushed under semis wheels was real stunt gone wrong.
Walker going backwards in fnf2 was a real stunt with him driving
tokyo drift drifting was tsuichiya drifting in a real car.

The movies make so much money its cheaper to build the cars and hire drivers than to make 3d ones.

it might involve custom EFI and billet parts everywhere
also those strange blue and pink hose connectors
>>
>>16996364
But the prop cars never moved. The stunt cars don't get sold.

Maybe he designed an engine from scratch? Otherwise you're looking at a lot of custom machined parts. We're talking stuff like custom manifolds, oil pans, intercooler setups, possibly twin charging, custom head machining with custom valves and camshafts. Maybe he had a head completely custom designed and built.
If you're looking to spend money there are plenty of ways to spend it but you start getting into minimal gains. I could easily spend 100k under the hood of a car. A lot of the parts would be custom designed and manufactured because that's where a great deal of the costs come from.

IRL do amerifats really spend 100k making a already efficient engine slightly more powerful? Its the law of diminishing returns that eventually you can't escape the reality that cubes=power thus why things like the RB32 exist. Even Ford and GM spend a fortune making their small blocks larger ie. the LS7 Voodoo and Trinity V8s. Point is money would be better spent doing pic related
>>
>>16997426
Wtf are you even on about idiot. No.
>>
>>16993042

Would it be like that episode of Trailer Park boys where they put the weed in the engine and it smokes through the vents and gets the boys ripped while they drive?

$100,000 then is $141,465.16 now

for $96,900. you can get a 959 cubic inch V8 that makes 1,800 hp all motor and well over 3,000 on nitrous

for $115,000 you can get a 1005 cubic inch V8 that makes 2,100 hp all motor

now lets go back in the day to the early 2000s

a 712 cubic inch engine with nitrous pushing 1850 hp was $45,000

aka this fucking S2000 should have been fast as fuck
>>
>>16998360
They must have been talking bullshit then.
>>
>>16998368
I always assumed he didnt literally mean 100 grand and was just exaggerating to make a point that Johnnys car was fast
>>
>>16996364
IIRC the vehicles used in the Need for Speed movie were modified with body kits to look like other cars, but a lot of stunts were done in real time, too.
>>
>>16998360
the fuck outta here with that cubic inches shit

Not very impressive, money is spent on labor for custom built forged parts in the motor and exhaustive tuning. Aside from the turbo and manifold it wouldn't look like anything

do you seriously think that displacement is the physical size of the engine

a 454 SBC is the same size as a 265 SBC

a 287 Pontiac is the same size as a 712 Pontiac

>>

>>
>>17001317

> I can just bore until the inside diameter is bigger than the outside diameter, then sleeve it.
>>
>>17001500
that still doesnt mean the displacement has to do with the size

a 454 Chevy is smaller than a 331 Hemi

lmao @ u retards

The 1000ci is pretty close to the size of a Viper V10 maybe even smaller, It's not that physically big considering it's over 16 liters. It's about the same size as the GTR's 3.8TT.

Why people insist on using DOHC is beyond me.
