>Kendall Jenner is doing a photoshoot.

Nearby there is a """""""peaceful protest"""""" involving BLM, Feminists, Sexual Deviants and Muslims.

Before the police can brutalize them, the Brave Kardashian Mutt strides over and confidentally gives the Evil White Male Pig a Pepsi and suddenly wtf i love diversity nao.

Pretend Leftists (i.e. marketing teams) proceeded to mock and attempt to troll imaginary conservatives on social media who are apparently meant to be so very upset by this. Appatently Le Alt-Right Neo-Nazis were organizing a terrorist boycott of Pepsi and the only way to beat them was to buy more Pepsi.

Instead, as usual, it was the actual leftist snowflakes who got triggered and decided to actually boycott and whine about Pepsi.

The end.

Its really more of a less heavily treed area that heavy trucks and lifted pickups can ram their way through without getting high centered.

And fuck those Captchas. If I'm ever going to get in an accident while driving, it will be because of Captchas. I don't always use the pass but when I do I remember how nice it is.

But I don't blame you for not wanting to buy one. I didn't want to support Mook either, especially after he messed with image size limits and added a bunch of shitty ads. But I had to do it with the IP range bans and not being able to post without wifi.

>>
>>16963419
I remember when we had the TransAm lease driver recruiter at my CDL school telling us how great it was. He made it sound like leasing was basically like being a company driver with TransAm's mechanics doing maintenance and repairs except you pick your own loads and make $90k+ a year.

>>
>>16963460
What about muh shiney and chrome 44 tonnes m8 hot fat hauler.
>>
>>16963438
That's exactly how it is, except instead of *making* $90k/year, you gross $90k and you pay $12k to the company for the truck, $30k on fuel, $5,000 in miscellaneous expenses (washes, tolls, fines, etc.) and instead of their mechanics **doing** your repairs and maintenance, you're contractually obligated to do all of that through them, which they invoice you for at exorbitant rated AAANNNDDD since you're not a company employee you pay all your insurance, all your social security obligation, all your Medicare tax, and there's no withholding so you pay all your taxes on April 14, which is why you haven't heard from the prime leasefag in weeks because he just realized three weeks ago that he's gone bankrupt

guys! i'm not a trucker and i normally respect you guys ..

BUT..

i'm on a cross canada road trip and today it was PITCH DARK and i was passing a truck on the left on a road like pic related (complete with blind corner)
i was in the center lane passing a slower truck on the right most lane
AND THERE WAS A FUCKING TRUCK COMING TOWARDS ME IN THE CENTER LANE THAT I NARROWLY MISSED BY SWERVING TO THE RIGHT BY ABOUT ONE SECOND

what the fuck?!

i'll add that these passing lanes are EVERYWHERE for both directions! no need to be crossing a double yellow line (even if it's not illegal, do you really want to literally die?)

fuck i'm still shook up by this

>>
>>16964594
Why were you passing on a blind bend, anon? Did your mother never tell you not to do that?

Some of the best motoring advice came from my parents. Things like 'make your own decision, don't just follow someone overtaking', and 'if you're on two wheels, look for escape routes rather than just stopping like a car'.
>>
>>16964811
Idk, just steal one from the back of a restaurant. There's a $75 deposit on the tanks plus another like $25 for the co2 so most restaurants try and keep track of them to get their $75 back.

I've seen that issue before I'm still scratching my head about why they'd run something as asinine as an optional gauge off the vcan when there are so many more important things that are communicating on that network. Abs event happens, you know exactly what is going to be shoved off the network so you get customer complaints about intermittent gauge failure. The tcm is the only thing that needs to know what the sump temp is exactly, the cecu can take it from the oil cooler outlet sensor. Turns out its a hard coded programming update in 2015 for cecu 3 with b cabs because those shit stains just want to multiplex everything.

Yeah paccar really fucked up their 1939 system. I attempted to connect to an Eaton ultrashift the other day and the computer recognized the truck just fine but it would not recognize an Eaton product as being installed on the truck. I called Eaton and apparently paccar put all the transmission data on channel 3 and you have to specifically select that in order to be able to communicate with it.

It has its ups and downs. It's nice working outside and driving through the woods, but it's also muddy as fuck this time of year.

The work my coworker and I are temporarily doing is mostly stringing out big ass 10" wide layflat hoses for transferring water at high rates and volumes, and connecting them to manifolds and trailer mounted pumps, so its a lot of in and out of the pickup, with some hanging out listening to tunes.

also fyi yellow cab or orange cab or whatever the fuck its called, will pick you up from any truck stop in the Indy area. pro-tip, on Holt St. exit 77 on 70 there's a Speedway fuel station with no parking, if you check with the manager they will usually let you park for a couple of hours to go into town, cab fare will run you 30-40 bucks round trip.

Don't even think of trying to even bobtail into downtown Indy, there's a ton of bridges under 13' 6" you will hit if you do.
>>
>>16970497
It's just a nearside 90 degree back where you wait a bit longer to get back under the trailer. Surprisingly easy to do in a spread axle. Practice it sometime if you're at Iowa 80 with nothing to do.

>>
>>16962990
It felt to me like a M1-A1 Abrams— and sounded like an IFV.

One day after 73 people were killed in the Nice roadkilling, I traveled to Philadelphia to better understand the firepower of commercial assault-style trucks and, hopefully, explain their appeal to truck lovers.

But mostly, I was just terrified.

I’ve driven automobiles before, but never something like an assault truck. Push lightly on the throttle and the resulting explosion of torque is humbling and deafening (even with ear protection).

The recoil bruised my lower back, which can happen if you don't know what you're doing. The traffic signs disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of exhaust and old upholstery made me sick. The horn — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after shifting the gears just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.

Even with a governor, it is very simple to hit 50 miles per hour before you even know what has happened. If illegally modified to remove the top speed restriction, it doesn’t take any imagination to see dozens of bodies falling in front of your bumper.

All it takes is the will to do it.

Seventy three people can be gone in 60 seconds.
>>

I should've given dude a couple cases of Naked Juice. My cooler stopped working at like 7am so the stuff isn't bad just yet but too warm to give to customers so I'm gonna have to throw it all out when I get back.
>>

That camera shop I stop at I don't have time for rideshare I was on load and had a dude make me wait a fucking hour and then he went ghost on me. I called 4 rideshares in Indy and only one actually responded and he ghosted me, so fuck that.

However, I'm afraid that our job will be automated within the next 10 years.

>>
>>16972029

That depends on whether enough people can be deluded into thinking autonomous driving is viable on near future hardware. They'll need a lot of mindshare to convince the insurance industry.
>trucks killing normies because the camera thought a white vehicle was a bright sky and ignored it like Tesla's autopilot crash last year

Or until they just bury radar beacons in the road.

Buut since the US is so capitalist they don't spend on maintaining or upgrading infrastructure?
You'll have long chains of cars randomly between lanes, or daisy-chaining their way the wrong way around the only roundabout in the state endlessly because someone's lane-keeping collision avoidance radar latched onto the tail of the queue they lead onto the roundabout and just swallowed it's own tail.

Or one guy with a manual license will lead convoys of cars along like ducks before hitting the gas and dumping them in the middle of nowhere, hazard lights blinking like a new constellation.

They aren't hillbillies down here, but I fucking hate those landscaping trucks. In the morning or right around lunch time, they always fuck me up. They park in the worst places at gas stations and then 7-11's around lunch are terrible since like 12 dudes hop out the truck and all buy their shitty chicken wings and whatever one by one and take up so much time so I'm standing there for half an hour just waiting to get checked in.

Always makes me laugh tho because I know these dudes aren't making much money yet I see them spend like $30 a day on shitty gas station food and gatorade.

>>16973698
That's one thing I hate about the bay trucks. Depending what side the load is on, I often have to park 2'-3' from the curb to get a hand truck in there.

>>16973882
+1. When I go down I-95 thru Fort Lauderdale into Hollywood, there are a few entrance lanes that end real quick but like car drivers have a long run up to pick up speed and find a spot to merge. Especially in the morning, I sit in the right lane and almost every time there is some cunt who decides to look to their left just as the lane is turning into a concrete wall
>>
>>16973833

>>
>>16973990
If that's the case then the delivery guy has to make room for an emergency vehicle. There's a point where you can hold up traffic legally for a period of time before it becomes impeding. It varies place to place but usually includes something like "unless necessary for safe operation or in compliance with law", the law in this case being (maybe) city ordinance. If you really think you're right then go ahead and go down to city hall or call the cops, but you won't because you're afraid of the possibility that you're wrong.

Part of the reason FL drivers are so shitty is all the New Yorkas and NE people.

I figured it out. It's a combination of things.
>old people who shouldn't be operating 4000lbs of steel
>foreigners who are used to driving in 3rd world countries with little to no traffic laws or enforcement
>tourists who have no clue where the hell they are going
>cunts from the Northeast who think the place they is going is more important than everybody else on the road
And then the rest of us are regular drivers who are just trying to avoid all of these people and sometimes have to drive like assholes

>last friday with coffee grill in Downtown Miami
>we want to cross a somewhat busy street on foot
>she tries to jaywalk even though there is a crosswalk like 50' ahead of us

Do you have to load your trailer at the warehouse as well as offload them at each stop?
>>
>>16977449
Overnight dudes build the pallets and load it. Then at the stop, I just open up whatever bay and pull the shit for that stop. But 95% of the time, it all has to go onto hand trucks and I bring it into the store. A couple stops have forklifts and I just pull the shit off with that or if possible I will throw an empty pallet on the ground, rebuild the pallet and drag it in with the pallet jack.

Up until maybe a year and a half ago, they would load all of the 20oz sodas on one or two pallets, all the Gatorate on a couple pallets, Startbucks on another pallet, etc. so for one stop you had to open up like 10 bays and pull shit from each pallet. Always sucked at the first stop when you need that one case of orange Gatorade that is buried all the way at the bottom. If I had a long day, I would just take that shit off the order and add it to another stop later in the day so it still gets sold. But we finally convinced them it might take the warehouse slightly longer to load the trucks at night but it will save us an hour or two throughout the day. Worked out well for us because a 10hr day used to be 350 cases and then when they started building each stop on its own pallet or two, we were doing 450cs+ in the same time.
>>
>>16975444
I didn't watch that whole thing but I watched enough to know the driver of the truck with the camera is at least as much of a problem as the other "bad" drivers he complains about. While there were a couple of dive-for-the-exit surprises most were situations you could see developing a mile away and he kept charging in. I couldn't take it anymore when he kept coming up on some silver Cavalier that clearly was going to be a problem and bounced out.
>>

Wow they sound like losers
>>
>>16977622

Been years since I've seen a trucker thread. I've gone from nights back to down the road. Started with a new company.
>>
>>16978121
Because big companies are retarded and love to save 5¢ in one place while costing themselves $5 in another. The warehouse numbers look really good when they are building pallets with all 20oz soda or all 28oz Gatorade but the drivers are out there longer and more mistakes getting the correct product to customers when trying to find the Strawberry Watermelon Gatorade buried between the Fruit Punch, Fierce Strawberry, and Strawberry Lemonade in the dark at 6am.

Supposedly we are going to switch over to what Coca Cola does in the future. Right now, we have the "bulk" routes which use 48' trailers with a liftgate and deliver full pallets to Publix and Walmart and other larger stores. They don't have to lift any cases and the average order is like 200cs and the merchandisers come later that day and stock the shelves. Then we have the small format (D-Bay) trucks like I run where the average order is 30-40 cases and we have to hand truck everything into the store and merchandise some of the stops.

How Coke does it, they run almost all of the stops on 40' trailers with a liftgate so the first half of their truck in the morning will be a Walmart and two Winn Dixies. Then the next 10 stops are smaller orders like Walgreens and gas stations. So we are supposed to switch to that and all of our bulk drivers will quit as soon as that happens. It's such a good job because the hourly pay is good and they don't do much physical work besides walkihg behind an electric pallet jack. Lots of those dudes are older and there's no way they will be able to handle the work.

I'll probably leave too. Only reason I would want to stay at Pepsi is for the hope of getting a bulk route but they won't even exist anymore. Maybe I could try for a regional transport route but fuck trying to get into management there.

Swift, they're the best in class. Award winning drivers are safe and courteous. Swift actually stands for Superior Workers In Fantastic Trucks.
>>
>>16978624
While exceptions do happen, the majority of the time new drivers end up taking a job with a mega carrier like Swift, Werner, etc because no one wants to have a new driver on their insurance. And that's understandable because the vast majority do fuck things up in their first year or two. I personally am responsible for a bit over 60K worth of damages in my first year (froze a load of fresh chicken- $60K claim). About the only megas to truly avoid are C.R. England and CRST. The rest are just one version of shit or another. DO NOT under any circumstance even begin to contemplate the possibility of starting to think about signing a lease.

It's ok. CDL schools mostly just teach you how to pass the test and then you learn everything you need to know when you get hired and start driving.

>>16978435
>>16978518
The shit I have to deal with in my 46' bay trailer is also incredibly stupid. But that's why I try and stay on my suburban route out west. On the beach a week ago, the stops that actually have loading docks, most of them can't handle anything larger than a 26' box truck. Some of them you can swing a 40' trailer behind a daycab up to the dock, but only if there isn't a single truck, van, or car parked anywhere nearby.

So they saw a chance and took it. As it turned out they didn't have quite enough room. Did this guy do anything to help out or even avoid a close approach? He did not. It will say "No Thru Trucks" because of weight limits, height limits, or it's a residential area and they don't want trucks going past the houses.

In my area, we have lots of canals going through residential areas and the weight limits on those bridges can be stupid low (old route had a 5 ton bridge I used to always drive over). And my area now, lots of "No Thru Trucks" signs on residential streets with tree branches that will fuck up a 13' 6" trailer and some of them have lower hanging power lines.

I watched like 3:00 into it, and that's just stupid. First few clips were just two supertruckers fighting for whoever has the higher governor and bigger ego. Dudes trying to pass are being impatient cunts, but if you're the truck holding somebody up, you can at least let off the gas for 10sec so they can get around when they have somewhat of a gap.

And then after that when it went to 4-wheelers, who the hell cares? That's how they normally drive anyway. Unless you have only been driving for 2 weeks, that shit shouldn't suprise you. If you can do it safely, you gotta act like a dick and ride with the car so they miss their exit otherwise just be prepared for them to pull that shit.

But idk, I live and work in South Florida so that shit happens to me many, many times a day.

Well, part of our wages is a salary, then we get hourly on top of that when working in the field, so I am always making something technically.

They are still muddy as shit, and it's been raining the past few days, so it will probably be slow for a while.
