Buying my first car soon. Currently talking to a guy about a 2001 Dodge Neon, 72k miles, $1200. I really don't know much about cars, what should I be aware of and on the lookout for. Any known issues?

check the trans fluid and see if it slips at all
My gf has a 2003 neon that is up to 145k miles but also on its third transmission
