Yes, if you apply the fixes. If you have multiple input, get the tool from the Steam forum. Otherwise limit your FPS to 60 with a external tool (not vsync), set your wheel rotation to 540 in-game but 900 in whatever wheel profiler you have. Also you need to calibrate your wheel and pedals every time you start the game. You do that by rebinding them in-game.

I havn't played racing games in a couple of years, and I was wondering what good games are to get back in.

On Steam I currently have GRID, GRID 2, GRID Autosport NFS Hot Pursuit, NFS Undercover and DiRT 3. Out of these I've played Grid 2 the most. Which of these is the best to jump back in?

I heard Assetto Corsa was pretty good, but I wasn't sure if you needed a steering wheel for that, as I'm currently using an XBOX 360 controller.

A lot of games fuck it up for some reason and think that because of THE BOOST, the FD is supposed to spin around and try to kill you if you hit the accelerator during a corner, even if gradually putting power on to accelerate out smoothly.

Ironically, of the recent games I've played, Forza 6 gets the FD's handling characteristics down pretty well where others have failed miserably. I played my brother's copy for a bit at his place and just put the little fucker around Hockenheim for a few laps and was surprised to see it hadn't been ruined.

I mean it could be tires, but I run street tires on mine and so do the stock versions of the car in basically everything.

For AC, this problem probably isn't limited to the FD and I'd expect affects every car. Speaking from what I know, you can only alter toe about 1/10th as far on an FD as the car's stock configuration allows for.

The FD's gud because it's low as fuck to the ground and balanced really well, keeping it nimble through corners and helping to accelerate in a hurry even with its kinda shitty torque (at least it's less than what you'd expect).

The thing that it feels like most games mess up is the turbo configuration - if you're exiting a corner at revs where the second turbo isn't fully active yet, it's really easy to manage. In AC it seems a little more finicky in those regimes than it should be, but I've been chalking that up to pants-on-head retarded settings.

There's a definite 'jump' around 5k when the first turbo is still spooling and the second starts to come on, that's when you get the most torque. I just try to exit corners without letting the revs get that high in real life and in AC, but in AC the fucker still wants to slide all over the place when I try to do so.

yes. ac is the sim to play now, alive multiplayer, shitload of mods, physics on point, probably best ffb in sim racing now. stock cars are modelled very well and you can clearly feel how different they are from each other, and stock tracks are mostly laser scanned

It's pretty weak compared to AMS and rFactor 2.
I wasted many hours trying to get it to feel right.
I tried tweaking the default ffb, used wheel check to get that linear ffb and used the gamma curve, which I liked the most.
It's still pretty bad and I hate how loose the wheel is when attacking corners.
AMS and rFactor 2 default ffb on the other hand give me much more information and make it a lot more easy to drive at the limit because I know what the car is doing.
Also, AC has the worst soft-lock I have ever witnessed.
The cars in AC look pretty tho.

Welp, we still have GR 1 atleast.
I completely forgot how easy to use the track editor is. I made the track in that webm in about 20 minutes, that includes a bit of AI tweaking but it's still not perfect. Partially because a F is not the best layout for a track.
