I bought a 91 ford years ago it's older than me but I love it 270000 miles on
I've had it for 200000 miles now and everyone says get rid of it
$4000 invested insurance cost more than the truck ever did ignoring gas

I've got a 1969 International that I love. People's reactions to it range from "I love it and want to talk your ear off about old trucks" to "Why the fuck do you drive that heap of shit".
It's a 3 speed on the column with a 345 V8. Fun to drive, and unique.
Look great but $4000 insurance cost wow

the only logical response to
>why the fuck do you drive that heap of shit
is to smash into them, grab a hammer, hammer out the tiny dent in your bumper and tell them
>because I can write off your car and fix mine all within 45 seconds
my dad had a 1979 f250 with a 460 and an autotragic transmission.
was backing up and some guy in a nice new corvette rear ended him and went nose first into a 2 inch ball receiver hitch, shiny spot on the hitch and a tiny little dent in the bumper, whole entire front end of the guys vette was pushed in and was leaking anti-freeze.
I bought that white 89 f150 with $250 and it ran fine up until my cousins ex swapped posts when jumping it and fried a bunch of shit. Fun little truck to drive, its a 5 speed with a 302.

Hey friend. I never liked trucks, and I still mostly don't, but I like my truck, and your truck is pretty ok, too. Our trucks are like cousins. No photos of the whole truck, so have some freshly painted intake plenum. It's an '89 Bronco, with the 5.0 in case you couldn't guess.

"Invested" cost. He's saying he's put more into insurance over the years than the truck is valued at.

Old trucks are best trucks man. My first truck in hs was an f100. It was a wee bit unrefined, but a tank non the less.
But pic related, just picked me up a new (to me) truck. Complete with OEM dirt

bought it for $4000 about 5 years ago from my step-father
it's a deathtrap above 70, but it sure is fun getting there. 429 is a great motor
>paid $800
>b16 swap, 5spd short throw, full exhaust w/ header
>lowered
probably the loudest car i've ever owned and god damn was it fun. no regrets

Needs more cowbell...
A former nfl star gave it to me, and I have had it for the last 3 years. I think I've only put about 1200 miles on it in that time, but it drinks gas, barely breaks 80 if you have the pedal to the metal on a long highway and is the least reliable thing I've ever owned.
I still love it too death, I've had some good times inside of it and I don't ever want to sell.
I took out drag racing and it ran a 22.9 @59.6 mph. I lost to a Prius. I'm building a 302 for it now so it should have some more kick
