Hey guys so I've been super lazy to fix my pos car
>1991 Nissan sentra gxe

When I got off work I decided to see if I can diagnose the rough idle and car hesitating when accelerating.

I noticed the cable (ground perhaps?) Arcing, and I'm assuming it's not suppose to. Could this be culprit to my rough idle/hestitation on acceleration?

I guess regardless my distributor caps needs to be replaced here is first image.

Second pic, there not as noticeable in this pic (they're small brown arcs)
>>
>>16934069
Probably a ignition coil wire or spark plug wire. Yes that could very well be the problem as one or more of your spark plugs wouldn't be firing
>>
>>16934064
If your distributor cap and rotor needs to be replaced then you might as well do spark plugs and wires as well. No you should. Full tune up oil change air filter clean out pcv set the plug gap check your timing

>>
>>16934103
while ago I replaced the spark plugs, maybe 3 months ago, I should do them again im guessing?

Since im a cheap bastard, on rockauto, I should order distributor cap and distributor rotor along with spark plug wiring set?
>>
>>16934147
Oops I meant or just the D.Cap and not the rotor.
>>
>>16934150
If you just did sparkplugs take them out and look at them/clean them. Google how to read your spark plugs. Definitely change your spark plug wires if the arcs are coming off the spark plug wires. But yes, if you're going to do the cap you might as well do the rotor, get good parts, they're usually cheap anyways. Now throw the old cap and rotor in your trunk so if your new ones ever break you have a spare.
>>
>>16934220
>>16934150
If on a super budget then just lightly sand the brass on the old rotor until it's clean. But really just replace it. If the gap between rotor and cap gets too big then you won't get as much spark to your plugs
>>
>>16934220
Lol, I meant to do that earlier, but came home and fapped. AFAIK the arcing was just on that wire going to dist cap to some place near engine. I will inspect again and see if there is any arcing on spark plug wires. But for 12 bucks, I might as well replace them.

>>16934224
Naa im not on super budget, I am planning to buy the parts on my next paycheck.
>>
>>16934243
That wire is your ignition coil wire then and your other Ht wires are just as old so good for changing them.
>>
>>16934036
Don't listen to the assholes dude that's a great deal and a good looking car!
>>
>>16934516
I don't know what that other anon was saying. Fox bodies are still cheap but are all at least 23 years old. Try to find a clean car over 23 years old for under 3k
>>
Should I replace my fucked engine mounts with OEM shit that fucks up within 40k miles (i travel maybe 8-10k miles a year) or buy aftermarket ones

Mazdaspeed 3 stock power.
>>
>>16934561
I doubt OEM parts shit the bad after 40k miles. But if they do go aftermarket, worst case scenario you replace them again next year. What's the cost difference? Make sure there's no other mounts that are also worn out, that could cause your motor mounts to wear out prematurely
>>
>>16934579
They are oil filled and everyone complains about them blowing up at 30-40k miles.

Cost difference is about $200 ish and the aftermarket ones are way worse for NVH.

I've replaced one mount already and now the other 2 are fucked, the 2 that hold the engine in place lol.

either see if the stealership have them tomorrow or wait 2 weeks for aftermarket ones.
>>
>>16934591
Ahhh I see they aren't just rubber mounts. If you don't mind the rattles the aftermarket would be fine. See if you can ride in a car that has them. Personally I would get OEM, you're not going to have to deal with it for at least two years, and if you want to sell it then you can say look at these nice shiny Mazda motor mounts, this vehicle has been well cared for and not driven hard in the slightest
>>
>>16934601
Yea good idea. Thanks mate, I'll just buy OEM ones later and when I need to swap them out again i'll buy aftermarket ones for when I want more power lol. Just hoping the local stealership or someone has them locally.

How much oil is too much /o/? I have to refill about 0.1-0.15L per 1000km on my gas powered DD. Is that ok? The manual states 0.4L per 1k km tops but I find that amount ridiculous.
>>
>>16934104
>5.0
But that's even better
>>
I've driven manual for about 1.6 years. I haven't stalled for a while, but I'm having trouble with starting from stop.

I might have misunderstood something when I first did all my reading on how to drive manual. I can either give it some gas and let go of the clutch quickly, but this jerks the car. I assume that's not good.
Or I can give it gas continuously as I'm coming to the bite point and never letting off. This is usually smooth, but I feel like I'm burning my clutch when I do this.

What am I doing wrong and what am I suppose to be doing?

>Or I can give it gas continuously as I'm coming to the bite point and never letting off. This is usually smooth, but I feel like I'm burning my clutch when I do this.
Do this and you are ok. Just find a spot where you can let it go quickly enough for it to be smooth yet it won't jerk the car.
Source: My whole family has only manuals and all of us do it that way yet we never had a clutch breakage in any of our cars.
>>
>>16935342
Forreal? It wouldn't leave any nasty marks on the dash if I decide to move it at some point?
>>
>>16935343
So I'm not killing my clutch when doing that? I thought I was, riding the clutch or whatever, a little when I was doing it that way. It's why I keep going back and forth.

Thanks, senpai.
>>
>>16935338
is that a 2010+ MS3?
>>
>>16935361
Well you do grind it a little but it doesn't matter. We had plenty of cars, from hatchbacks to vans and with various mileage too (but nothing above 250k km) and never had a faulty clutch.
Just don't make it grind too much and you are in the clear senpai.
>>
>>16935269
it's getting there (your usage)
my 200k DD uses (or loses) less than .5l every 8k (5k miles for burgers)
however, there are (relatively new) nissan engines that use 1l/1k and the manufacturer insist that's normal so ... it can be worse
>>
>>16935380
Yeah, last-gen VW TDI that my dad has uses a ridiculous amount of oil after 200k (almost 1L/1k km) but that engine is pretty much fucked.

Problem is that my car is only 85k but I do max it quite often. Are there any additives that might help with oil consumption?
>>
>>16935392
no
never put anything in your oil
never
unless you want to sell it withing the next few days
what I would do if I were you is
1: look for leaks
2: check compression
3: decide if you want to keep it or not

Smoother after the rear motor mount but it's still got that bang to it. Gotta perfectly match if you want a smooth shift out of it. It hasn't been running too cold since the weather has picked lately and I let it warm up for a minute or two before I start going.
>>
>>16935474
I have trouble getting it in 1st after I reverse out of my driveway on a cold morning. 1-2 is fine though.

My car (actually my wife's) is still under warranty (until aug 2012) and I've had a really hard time convincing the dealer that something is wrong (and I want them to fix it, whether under warranty or for money)
It's a good thing I have a lawyer friend who will do stuff for me.
The trial is scheduled for June this year
I can't wait!

The bad part (for them) is that they put it in writing saying that:
1: something is wrong
2: they didn't do anything to find it
3: they "advised" me to go somewhere else to get it fixed
4: not fixing it will lead to damage

I mean how stupid can you be to put that in writing?
>>
>>16935580
>(until aug 2012)
Might be a little past that day, pal.

Hope the trial goes well.
>>
>>16935586
I meant aug this year
the car was bought in aug 2012
>>
>>16935580
here's they only thing I can think of why they would do this...does it have anything to do with the clutch? It counts as a "wearable item" so they generally don't cover it on any warrenties and will refuse to cover it. If not, then boy oh boy they dumb.
>>
Should you replace your wipers every year or only when they streak badly?
>>
>>16935654
If they still wipe properly, no need to replace them.
>>
>>16935649
clutch is fine
also, no matter how cold it is, if you don't go past 2k in 1st, you can go straight into 2nd without problems
also, no matter how cold it is, if you pass through N before putting into 2nd (like 1st, back, right, left back), everything is perfect
also, no matter what you are doing under what circumstances, there are no problems

so, if they would have told me something like:
"yeah, it's the mount and or shifter bushings but it's not covered by warranty"
I would have been more than happy
parts can't be more than $200 and I can do the work myself

stubborn idiots that will have to pay (one way or another)

The brake line on my car that goes from the LR wheel to the RR wheel has a hole in it and now only the last 5% of my brake pedal has any pressure, only being good for stopping below 10mph. if I just pinch off the brake line to the rear I will at least have enough pressure to allow the front brakes to work, right? Only need the car for another month and we've been pretending that its capable of going though 4x4 trails for the past week and I intend on continuing these adventures until it finally stops being able to move.
>>
I wanted to import or buy a r32 Skyline, but I noticed there were a lot of variations when looking for ones to import. Are there any I should ignore, or are they mostly the same car? I want to learn to drift in one if that helps in deciding which model to choose.
>>
>>16936494
>He wants to import a car so he can drift in it
Don't. When you buy a drift car, just count on destroying it. You need something CHEAP, because modifying the steering to have enough angle and the rest of the suspension to make it more driftable is going to cost money. Then you need to be able to buy tires and any other equipment you need. An imported Skyline GTS will probably run you $20k to start with. You're far better off finding a clapped-out S13, S14, Foxbody, or F-body to drift.
>>
>>16935269
you could try moving up an oil weight, if you run 5w 20 try 5w30 for example. Sometimes the thicker oil can help reduce blowby or oil burnoff and make it last longer.

>>16936328
you'd need to bleed the brake lines, at the very least. Brake lines are pressurized systems, a leak anywhere means a loss of pressure for the entire system. If you patched the leak by bypassing your rear breaks, and rebled the fronts then you would have pressure to front brakes, they would work, just don't try locking them up cuz your ass would fishtail like a mofo.

Every so often, about 1 in 10 starts (completely random cannot replicate at will) my traction control gets "fucked up" and i get a service traction and stability systems message. Now also i can hear and feel a very light, faint grinding type sound when i turn the wheel sharply while going very slow and seems to really only do it when i step on the gas. Could these be related? went to the mechanic and he basically said if there's no "symptoms" then it's fine and would be a waste of money to fix which i kind of think is bullshit, i dont want to ignore "problems" only to have that shit break even worse later.

It's a fleet vehicle so I'm not entirely sure. Should have snatched a copy of the Carfax from the dealership but it's a 2014 with 75k miles on it. It's in really good condition and the new LS motors last until the end of time. It has to be almost all highway miles at that rate, so the front diff should be good I imagine.

I'm probably going to go ahead and do the rear diff and engine air filter. I'll have a mechanic friend help with the transfer case and transmission. Probably brake fluid too.

Is the n/a mr2 that much slower than the turbo model? And more importantly does the n/a feel slow or does it accelerate at an acceptable speed? I find myself tripping over n/a models but every turbo either has a shit ton of problems or the seller wants an astronomical amount for it.

Maybe some of y'all can help me out with this:

I replaced the starter in my car about 4 months ago, and it worked fine for a few months. Now, it's acting weird:

If the engine is cold, the starter won't "catch" the flywheel and just spins. I have to cycle the key like 20 times to start the car
If the engine is warm, it starts on the first try.

Getting to the starter was a major PITA, but I know I'll probably have to do it again. I don't want to buy a new starter, but I suspect the one I ordered was shit and that's why this is happening in the first place.

Any thoughts?
>>
>>16942529
Sounds like the solenoid is not kicking the starter head down when cold, or if you have shim your starter, its improperly shimmed.

I need a ratchet set to start trying to work on my car myself, but I'm too dumb to know what kind I need. Someone tells me theres two kinds: Metric and something else, and that they're incompatible.

My car is a 1980 Datsun 510.. how would I know what socket set to get so I can work on it?
>>
>>16942571
Its jap, it uses metric.

FYI all imports use metric, all american cars up to ~Mid 80's to 90 use Standard/SAE measurements.

However both use the same ratchet sizes 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, and some sizes are close enough to be used if you're lacking that size.

5/32's is only slightly off from 4mm, 5/16's is only slightly off from 8mm 19/32's is roughly 19mm

I let it idle about half a minute before and after driving. The car also works the oil pump after turning the key once and after being shut off (comes with stop-and-go system, whoever thought of putting it on a turbo car) until the oil cools down to about 60°C.

I want to start working on my car so when I get a project car ill know some stuff, but ive got 2 problems. Firstly, theres nothing wrong with my car right now for me to work on so I dont know what to plan for aside from my next oil change in 1k miles, and second; after going to Home Depot to get tools I realized I didnt know exactly what I needed.

So what can I work on in the car in the meantime? Or should I just replace shit anyway? Also does /o/ have a beginners guide to buying tools or can someone give me a list of what I might need. I drive an '03 4 cyl accord, can I find a tool list in the manual, or should I just start getting jacks, stands, and different types of wrenches?

Went ahead and got the air filters and oil for the rear diff. As well as an oil catch pan and 2 different oil pumps, one for tranny fluid, one for oils.

Working on my own vehicle is something I would like to be able to do. So I went ahead and changed the air filter for the engine. Was pretty easy.

It's probably your serpentine belt. With engine running try spraying a tiny bit of water on your serpentine belt. If it quiets down for a sec then that's probably the problem. Or you could just look at it, if it appears dry, a little shiny/polished, or has cracks or missing pieces between cracks then replace it

Yeah, just clean them up as best you can. And clean up you caliper slide areas as well, get as much rust off where parts contact as you can. What pads did you buy? Typically the cheapest pads or ones that have been returned will not have the clips. Spend some dosh next time for at least OEM equivalent

you should get new parts if the old parts looks bad
general rule is when you swap out rotors you should do hardware

if they still look good, re-use them

walk into the store with the clips

Look at the one for 40k and 60k, dont start taking parts off until you are certain you know whtas going on. Learn to check all these things. Take your wheels off and wire brush your hub mounting surface, rotate tires, retourque lug nuts. That's something easy to do. Honestly just read forums about common things that break and replace them early. If nothing's pressing or needs immediate replacing then just clean everything you can, engine, interior, under car, whatever you can get to without taking parts off. So.ething else lightweight you can do is clean your fuel injectors, and if you have an inline fuel filter you can change that. Oh and check your air pressure in your tires, including spare. If you have anything with a zerc fitting on it grease it (though I doubt there will be many). If you work on your car be methodical and organised. Don't do what I do and take the whole thing apart and throw things everywhere, it's such a pain in my ass. I like the website car Bibles for general car tech info if you want to do some reading. If you're going to be changing your own oil soon get a small set of open end wrenches or basic 3/8 socket set (metric) at a minimum. Following that I'd get a jack and stands and a 1/2drive socket set. Oh and 4 screwdrivers with the wrenches or 3/8 socket. One big Phillips, one small Phillips, one small flathead, one big flathead, no they are not prybars get a prybars if you need to leverage something. Sorry this is a block of text, as I said I won't be bother d to stay organized, don't be like me

>>16944252
If the pad fits in and slides with pinky finger resistance then it should be ok. Bit put the tiniest (tiny tiny tiny no excess just the exact amount needed) bit of grease on where the clips go to try and keep them from rusting. And lube the pads as well (hurr Durr don't put grease near your rotors) just the little ears on the pads where they slide on the clips and where it contacts caliper piston/ caliper itself. Again, a tiny smidge is enough. Invest in a good steel wire brush and small file for very light rust removal/cleaning. And I'm sure if you Google you can find clips, won't get a good deal for them but if you're putting nice pads on brand new clean clips will get you the most life out of them and consistent braking performance. Year make model brake pad clips
>>
>>16944267
People who describe car noises as bad just don't know what's going on because if they aren't good with machines then usually they are good with people. For example they may pick up that one of their friends is eating more and seems lathargic and may be a little mopey and may say hey friend, I noticed you seemed a little down, can I help. But if they hear a bottom end knock in their car they just go oh well metal sometimes make knock sound and my car has lots of metal so maybe it's ok. Then their engine makes horrible grinding explosion and not running noises and they just describe it as not good because those are not the results they wanted.

I recently bought an 06 Sentra SE-R Spec V and have only been driving it around for a couple of days.

Just tonight it started flickering the oil pressure light every time I set off going forwards. I could not reproduce it setting off in reverse or in taking hard corners.

It's possible that I mistakenly overfilled the oil a tad 2 days ago. Is it likely that or a sensor? I've also read that it could be the pump. How should I diagnose it?
>>
>>16945212
Is the oil still at the correct level? If it is check your oil pressure, usually you have to hook up a gauge to a port on your engine.
>>
>>16945304
I will check it when I get up in the morning.

Initially the oil read incorrectly on the dipstick so I added 2 more quarts. Now it is over the fill line but not by a ton.
>>
>>16945212
Oil foaming from over filling can cause oil pressure issues, but with modern oils it doesn't happen much.

I doubt your oil pump is messed up at all, but more likely the pick up screen is clogged

or most likely some bearing is failing and hemorrhaging oil internally causing the oil pressure to be lower than normal.

Check the actual pressure with a gauge to make sure its not just the sensor.

Everything after doing that is either taking the engine apart to find the answer or put a thicker weight oil in it and ride till she dies.

What oil are you using btw?

The thing doesn't get tight, it just keeps slipping, it's been like that before the service. I Think i need to change it.
>>
>>16945446
Just get a quality halogen bulb, manufacturers usually have a standard, bright, and extra bright levels. Standard and bright lasting longer and extra bright sacrificing longevity for brightness. The extravision route would probably be your best route. They can only make a coil of wire so bright before it melts things. Also make sure your lenses are clear and properly aimed to send light to where you need it.
>>
>>16945461
Service engine soon light or check engine light? Some cars check engine light does say service engine soon but just checking. If a lights on bring it back with your receipt and ask them if they can figure out why the light is on. Be polite and you're more likely to get a legitimate repair
>>
>>16945456
Yea it could have oil pickup issues from clogged screen/foamy oil when leaning back in 1st and not when leaning forward in reverse.

or the crankshaft has more end play in 1st gear than reverse gear exacerbating the oil issues caused by the failing bearing.

You gotta check actual oil pressure and then decide if you wanna start taking stuff apart or just run it.

First thing I'd do after puting the oil at the correct level and checking actual oil pressure is remove the lower oil pan and check for pieces of timing guide or sludge in the oil pickup.

But a Ducati big twin has the same capacity per cylinder as a 5.2 V8 and revs to 11,000 RPM. Na no way 2 quarts is seeping through the valve cover gasket.

Burning it and or leaking it from front/rear main oil seals. Check your oil filter make sure its not leaking/ double gasketed.

In my experince regular Mobil 1 Full Synthetic burns in engines like crazy on the first oil change using it so I'd stay away from it.

On the flip side the best oil IMO for stopping consumption and leaks is Mobil Super High Mileage its a semi-syn and only 15 bucks at walmart. It takes a few 1,000 miles for it to kick in.

>tfw clutch pedal feels not smooth at the bottom of the pull when coming off of it slowly
Had techs at the dealership look at it, none of them said they found any issue. I guess it's just me. It just used to feel smoother...I don't know what gives. It only gets a little grittier when actually in gear, neutral you don't feel it in the pull. Feel like I'm going crazy.
>>
I just did my rotors and pads on all of my wheels and now my pedal went from like 2 inches before the brakes engage to like half of the travel before they engage. I did the fronts first and put them all back together because it was the biggrst issue (warped rotors made the car shake enough to give a child shaken baby syndrome) and the pedal was even better than it was before, and I drove it around for a week.
Today I did the rears Because I had already bought the parts so fuck it but now as I said the pedal sponges half way through the travel. I made sure to grease everything and bleed the brakes just as I did the front too. They're sliding caliper rotating pistons and I just used some channel locks to unwind them with the bleeder open and I just went all the way as far back in to the caliper as they would go (they weren't flush though, they still stuck out about 1/4 inch. Did I wind them back too far?
>>
>>16950091
No, you don't need to open your bleeders to twist your calipers back in. You're going to have to rebleed the system because you got air in it. If you say but I did bleed it already then you need to bleed it again.

>>
>>16950091
Winding the piston in with pliers is really stupid because you risk damaging the dust boot and sealing surface.
I foresee new rear calipers in your future.

The pistons can't be screwed in too far so your fine there, but did you leave the bleeder open in between turns of the piston?

If you did you probably got some air in the system.

FYI there is no need to open the bleeder when screwing the pistons back in unless explicitly noted.

I did it for ease and Because I was changing the fluid anyway so I wanted to get as much out as I could. I bled them after it was all put together minus the wheel, same as the fronts. I also made sure the master cylinder was always at least half full so there is no air intrusion from there.

>>16950175
They were already missing, this car was ridden hard and put away wet and fairly neglected by the po which is why I got it so cheap. As above I had the bleeder open when turning to make it easier and to remove as much old fluid as I could and it was bled properly after it was assembled.

>>
>>16950319
Are you bleeding them by yourself? I still say bleed them again, I've had to bleed brake a lot before to get them right. Start at the wheel with the shortest path to the master cylinder then further and further away. Use the bottle and tube method to minimize air getting in while tightening. If that still doesn't work make sure there's not a procedure you need to with the abs or something. If you don't want to crawl on you back and bleed them again then post on your cars forum not this hot mess.

03 mazda 6 2.3, just had clutch replaced by mechanic, new flywheel and new cv's. Before I brought it in it was chugging and the pedal was sticking to the floor half the time in warm weather. They told me the throwout bearing was broken. New clutch felt great for a few days, now feels like ass again. Still chugging when the clutch is fully engaged and throttle is applied in a high gear at low rpm. On top of that I have noise coming from the suspension when turning the wheel all the way to park the car. I really don't want to bring the car back in to the shop or spend any more money on it than absolutely necessary.
I recently fixed a misfire and got a junkyard list together. I'm really starting to like this thing and know my way around under the hood and I don't want to have to buy another car right now. Should I bring it in asap or bleed the clutch and hope for the best? It fucking sucks having to take time off work to deal with this bullshit. I'm so upset at all this.

I still can't fucking gear shift on a manual smoothly without tiny little jerks.

I get that I should let off the throttle slightly AFTER pushing in the clutch so I don't jerk the car forwards, but I can't seem to release the clutch properly without a (tiny) jerk half the time.

I don't know if I'm just letting go too fast for the synchronizer plates. Am I supposed to be going slower on releasing the clutch? I've been under the impression that it's best to minimize the amount of time the clutch is partially in, but does this matter as much if the car is already in gear?

Also I can never get 1st to 2nd gear transition smoothly. If I go slow enough with the clutch, the car slows down too much that the weight transfers forward anyways. If I go fast enough then it's the usual jerk.

fuck I just want to get an automatic car with a sterile/soft suspension next time for a daily driver.

Looks like an intake pipe and not stock but I don't know MR2's that well.

If it truly has 300k miles on it, I'd only buy it if I absolutely knew what was wrong with everything. So you might want to see if the owner would be willing to take it to a mechanic to have it looked over.

not stock. that intake channel actually increases drag and internal pressure of engine compartment, disrupting outbound airflow and heat dissipation. they're a gimmick.
>>
>>16956676
i should clarify that the rear deck of the SW20 is designed to create a low-pressure zone right above the vents in the engine bay lid, causing heat to flow through them at speed. the intake(s) are the ports behind each door, with the filter box on the left, and on turbo models, the intercooler on the right.
>>
>>16956554
I have a regal gs and lesabre of the generation before that, and the lesabre is easy to work on because of the sheer size of the engine bay. Things to look out for: leaking plastic coolant elbows, upper manifold gasket. There's an aftermarket aluminum elbow replacement that alleviates the first problem and the second one is probably taken care of already.

it's an N/A car (factory turbo models' VINs will include "SW22" in north america) converted to turbo, apparently, and they want $3,500 for a 26-year-old example with 300k miles that needs mechanical work and a paint job? HELL NO. that car is MAYBE worth $2,000.

Can anyone give me some feedback on this car? Would it make a good drift car project or are RWD>AWD for that? I was hoping if its still available to try and get it under 1k

This is a question fir a Mazda rx7 rotor engine

How do I know if my side seals are clearence?
>>
>>16957724
if you can turn wrenches and are willing to get into the arcana of all things VR4 (not to mention have money to spare), it's a good deal, assuming the seller is honest. those cars are notoriously difficult for the inexperienced.

not the guy you replied to but 2003 350z owner here
>entire interior is cheap feeling plastic that's held together by push tabs and friction so it will rattle for eons and there's no hope of fixing it
>the pocket on the dash has never worked properly and the ash tray never stayed in properly (I suggest removing both)
>"high pressure" clutch is awkward, very little feeling of when it bites, most of the feeling it has is weight, daily drove a manual for years before this and I still have trouble getting a consistent smooth start
>you'll hear more of the transmission whirring in the cabin than the vq35de revving
>the 6speed is known to be notchy if not maintained (changed my trans fluid day 1 and never had this problem)
>vq engines are known to drink oil
bought mine at 108k miles, at 116k now, I did have to deal with an occasional misfire (engine code p0300), however new spark plugs, ignition coils and cleaning the maf and throttle body cleared seemed to have cleared that problem up

For what it's worth I was in the market for Camaro or Mustang Snek, for less than 10k the Z has far exceeded my expectations with its comfort and ergonomics

Has anyone dealt with Detroit Axle on ebay? I'm looking for control arms and they've got a pair for a good price.

Found a 99 grand cherokee nearby for cheap, but they lost the key. Got 2 new ones and neither worked supposedly, so car is currently in anti theft with fuel supply cut off. Would getting a new cylinder fix this, or would i still have to fuck with the fuel supply?

There are two 2004 rx-8's for sale near me (at the same dealership). Both of them have around 85k miles, clean carfax, both manual. One is red with cloth interior, one is black with Leather.

Red with cloth - 5.5k OBO
Black with leather - 6.9k OBO

Like another anon in here, I commute a lot of miles per year, but I intend to pay this vehicle off very quickly so I can leave it use it as a fun/secondary vehicle.

Which one would be more worth it?

What's the difference between OBD and OBD-II? how do i know which one has my car?
>>
>>16960158
obd 1 is a bullshits and only rand for a few years
>depending on manufacturer '89-95
>some started later or switched to obd2 earlier
not all OBD 1 vehicles have universal 8-pin connectors, instead having proprietary connectors or direct access to the ECU
all vehicles after 1995 are OBD2 and have a different larger trapezoid shaped 16 pin plug that is standard

What can I expect from this car? Im looking at the 1.5 150hp tarbo ralliart version. From what I've seen the interior is pretty asscrappy. How about its handling, acceleration? I cant find any specs online. How much is maintenance
