Renault and Citroen used to sell in the USA.
Citroen left during the 1970's. Something about a law mandating sealed beam headlights when the Citroen DS used halogens. The US market changes made the car look weird, and no one bought them. The law was later repealed when Ford lobbied Congress to repeal it so they could launch the game changing Taurus in 1986.

Renault sold in the US until the 1980's. Around the late 70's, Renault actually bought AMC, and sold Renaults through AMC dealers, though not the full line up. One of the famous US market only Renaults was the Renault Alliance. Though the Alliance was a pile of trash, it made a big splash when released.
Renault left the US market in 1987 after selling AMC to Chrysler and left the US market when the CEO of Renault was assassinated.
