That doesn't even make sense. On my 2013 car, you can literally hear the compressor turn on and off the entire time the button is on and blowing air.

read the manual it will tell you. Some cars have an 'eco' button or similar that will turn off the compressor. Others will have it completely automatic.

No, the compressor is off when the A/C is off. Tell your dad to stop trusting stupid posts on normiebook.

Some modern AC compressors don't have a clutch. Look up variable displacement compressors.
