I have a really bad fetish for flashy, cheesy, reaganomic-fueled cars from the late 80's. My pop has worked in the car business since before I was born and he tells me most 80's cars are junk but I still can't help but love the stylistic optimism and excess of these things. Post more like this.

You sound exactly like me, OP.
It was shit, but was glorious shit it was
The Chevrolet Celebrity had some awful bodykit package for a year or two. Never seen one IRL.

automotive equivalent to scat
worst decade
have one of the few good ones
>>16885177
Nope, the worst decade was the 70s by far, due to emissions bullshit largely.
-BBQ Pinto
-Mustang II
-Chevette
-Early Omnis
-Aspen
-The Pacer (Waynes World be damned)
-VW Thing
-Anything Japanese, it was a rusted hulk by 1983, and that's IF it made it to the decade.

i live in north Canada, still have my 79 Supra. literally next to no rust, all depends how theyre cared for.
>>16885228
same as this guy, been in the country for a decade and next to no rust plus good 80s styling

BC?
Cause I'm in southern Ontario and things don't last here long with salt, e-testing and our now newer safety standards which came into effect late year.

70s were great
American cars were just shit

Alberta, i had a 81 Toyota Hilux as well and it was used on a farm here by the last owner. no rust issues, sold it just needing carb work
Ontario is fucked though, i was a mechanic and doing work on Ontario vehicles and east coast everything was rusted to fuck. i remember about 5 years ago we did an OPI inspection on a 4 or 5 year old Mazda 3 from Ontario and had to fail it because the frame already had a rusted rotted out hole in it

>step rails so friends can get in the bed
ah those were the days.
also I have a fetish for futuristic 80's tire hubs.
>>16885258
Yeah, it sucks here.
Those early Mazda 3s really do rust badly though. They have more rust on them at ten years old then I remember old Proteges at the same age having back in the early 2000s. Those 3's were already oozing scabs easily at 6 and 7 years of age.
the graphics make it
Own two 80's car, a 1980 Courier and a 1985 Shitstang. Trucks like the Courier and other mini's and full sizes used to be simple work trucks, now they're huge, have about 12 cupholders, and a mini-flat screen tv.. For me, simple is better
