How final stage would have been better:

Make Shinji a cocky ass nigga instead of an even more boring version of Takumi. Seriously, as a character he was insufferable with zero personality. If his character was Diet Shingo it would have made for a more emotionally charged final battle. It would literally be like when the main character from Pokemon Gold battles Red at the end of the game. Also, when he loses, he gets a dose of humility and character growth.

I feel the same way. The movie wrapped it up nicely, but I feel it should've ended after Dagumi lost to Lan Evo, everything after that was just typical shounen shit.

It should have ended right when Stage Three ended. The "team of the week" project D was insufferable to watch.

First stage was a masterpiece, second stage was also great because it had the 4AGE Silvertop porn, and Third stage is where it started to trail down a bit.

Why did they thought that showing Takumi always winning would be a good idea? It doesn't even surprise you when watching because you always know that "he is going to do some drifting voodoo shit and win".
