We already have a BMW thread up. I miss BMW general. Why do our cars make people so mad that they have to shit up our general? I always thought they were pretty good threads.

Pulled the M20 from my E30 the other day. The guy who was going to buy it backed out suddenly, so I have to put it back up for sale.
You can see the 2002 in the background too, shame it's pretty rusty.

It's not exclusive to 4chan too, when I got my 316i I've been made fun of having an "old base model BMW" by my classmates whose parents owned the likes of first gen Toyota Avensis or Audi A3 8L. I'm always bullied on the roads as in no one ever lets me merge in front of them, a lot of people speed up when I overtake them etc. People get hella asspained over BMW owners for no reason really.

my guess about the hate for bmw drivers is because they once contemplated about getting one but regret not going through with it
imo the worst drivers on the road are fucking honda and toyota drivers
not sure if its because theres more hondas and toyotas on the road compared to bmws but i notice they do more retarded shit

the bmw 3 series isnt even that expensive and it is within reach of most people but they dont go through without
either out of financial reasoning or they hear bmws have lots of issues

The to Bently Manual test the crank position sensor, that is the number one reasons BMWs don't start. You're rough idle when you first got could be hinting at it being out.

It's easy, and has nothing to do with envy; shit drivers are memorable. Just as we all hate the Camry driver because every other one seems to be a slow geriatric fuck doing 10 under in the overtaking lane, we associate BMWs and Audis with that highly-strung white collar office worker who leased an entry level model, refers to it as his "Beemer" because it's just a 320i.

He drives like an asshole, neglecting to indicate and tailgating aggressively in traffic because he's under enough pressure to melt his brains out. Has to get to the office or his boss is gonna ride his ass, and has to get back home because he knows for certain is cheating slut of a wife is fucking Chad behind his back.

But we don't see any of that, nor do we really care. We just see an asshole in a newish bottom trim BMW tailgating some hopeless driver teenage girl on her P's in a Holden Barina.

Also in Sydney and Melbourne the reputation for earlier models (E36 and E46, now that E30s are becoming collectible) is ruined by ethnics who do buy them for the badge and run them into the ground. Which is a pity because those were my two favourites from an aesthetic standpoint. I only hope the E9x depreciates fast enough for them to fuck off onto those.
