What are your thoughts on dieselgate? Do you still trust VW if you did? Do you care? Did you own one of the diesels effected? Or is it just another big automobile company that got caught doing something it wasn't supposed to be doing?

Considering how ridiculous emissions standards are getting and how fucked the way they determine them is (by wheelbase, wtf?) I don't really blame them at all.

Here's your (((you)))

My mom was one of the deaths that brought about this lawsuit. I can't believe VAG got away with it this long... After all the lawsuits they will be bankrupt EASILY

wat

VW literally did nothing wrong.

>one of the deaths
>dying from car emissions
How the fuck do you do this by accident?
>>16846115
Your mom died due to dieselgate? How so?
>>16846084
I didn't know they determined it by wheelbase, I assumed it was just by how much shit the engine spewed out.

I trust them and have even more respect for them now more than ever. They essentially told the US gubmint to stop being dick riding fuckboys and let diesel cars exist. Harley-Davidson cheated US emmisions testing by making their bikes run lean when they got tested for pollution and then told dealerships to make them run properly once they arrived at their lots quite a few years back, but nobody batted an eye because of "muh freedumbs."

I agree with this. I personally own a MK4 Golf tdi and besides how horribly underpowered it is (ALH), I'm semi happy with t besides obvious problems with age. I don't get as good of gas mileage as everyone says diesels do, as I can often get to about 300 before I need to fill. However I do a lot of stop and go driving with all stops being a few miles from each other. I wanted to get one of the MK7 TDI's when I got a better job but doesn't look like I will be able to now and doesn't look like VW will bring TDI back to the US ever.

It's a ratio. Bigger the wheelbase, the more it's allowed to spew in simplified terms. Its classification decides what the ratio is, light trucks have a different one than cars. That's why you don't see small trucks anymore though, the requirements for emissions and MPG on a short wheelbase truck is ridiculously high.

Diesel just needs to go, permanently. It has no place in daily drivers.

I could agree with that, I think the whole hype behind it is it so reliability and great gas mileage (18 wheelers). I used to have a V6 Honda and even driving like a teenager I got almost as good of gas mileage as I get with my little 4 cylinder diesel. I should've shopped around and just got a gasser, specifically a Camry or a corolla. Possibly even just a gas golf instead of a tdi

Hahaha how autistic are you? Are you thinking of the Chevy ignition tumbler shit? Holy shit
