If you had to pick one of the two to daily (and modify if you want):

> Nissan 300ZX TT 2+2
> Nissan 350Z DE Rev-up

Which one of the two would you pick and why?
>>
>>16844700
>300zx
Its aesthetic af
>>
>>16844709
+1
>>
>>16844709
The car is 14-18 years old right? You gotta daily it and deal with old car problems and dated interior compared to the 350z
>>
They're both around 250whp both rwd, the 300zx looks cooler and is slightly more practical with 4 seats but the 350z is nicer inside (not saying much cause it is a nissan at the end of the day) it comes down to the looks and the seats if you ask me
>>
>>16844700
The 300zx you can easily get more power from the turbos
>>
>>16844700
What color is that z? Is that black cherry? Fuck it looks so nice, mine looks brown for some reason
>>
>>16844700
There's no such thing as a factory 300ZX TT 2+2. All 4 seaters came with natural aspiration.
The 2+2 has fucked up proportions anyway.
>>
>>16844760
Have you sat in a z32? It's a completely different segment, much more luxury features and driver oriented. They're both z cars but if anything the z33 is more dated because 00's interiors were shit.
>>
Currently DD a z32 2+2. Having never driven a 350z, I still feel confident I'd keep my car. It's cool as fuck seeing other z32s on the road once every few months, and the occasional z enthusiast striking up a conversation is something I'd miss if I traded to a more normie-friendly z33.

Also, t-tops a best.
>>
>>16844876
False. There wasn't a 2+2 turbo in the North American market, but they produced them for other market segments
>>
>>16844700
Would you fags just start a nissan general again?
Im sick of seeing multiple threads about the same unreliable shitboxes
>>
>>16844700
The 350Z.

2 reasons.
1: I love the VQ engine series. Probably because of some of the similarities it shares with GM's 60* pushrod V6's, and GM's High Feature V6, namely the V angle, and firing order, though it shared more in common with the HF V6 than the pushrod one, obviously.
2: The firing order.
1-2-3-4-5-6
If you can't remember that, you're mentally retarded. It's the same firing order used by the GM pushrod 60* V6's and the GMM HF V6, as well as the Nissan GTR supercar. I don't know what it is, but cars with this fucking firing order have a sexy exhaust sound.

examples:
350Z (VQ35)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g08uLFsusaY

ATS-V (LF4 twin turbo):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2LRiLsAH1U

Camaro (LGX HF):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtOlxn3M1WI

Nissan GTR (VR38):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INBpNb2H_us

Cavalier (LA1/LX9 hybrid, pushrods):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLVm-tS7ips

Something about that firing order guarantees a great noise.
>>
>>16844760
>implying the 350z has a better interior than the 300zx
>>
ill take the pre renault kneesan tyvm
>>
>>16845068
What's the best exhaust setup for the 370z?
>>
>>16844700
Neither. I'd get something with a v8.
>>
>2+2 Z32
Who wants this?
I'll take the 350z and drop in an VR30DDTT.
>>
>>16845493
Me. Dog's gotta go somewhere.
>>
Who Here going to Z day this weekend?
>>
>>16845493
I'm in the UK and the only Z32 TT i can find is a 2+2 and i don't mind having 4 seats either way
>>
>>16844876
I'm in the UK so the TT comes 2+2 and it's the only decent one I can find right now. I love the look of the Z32 but don't know which id pick
>>
>>16844881
How the car drive? I've driven a 350z but not a 300zx, do you ever use the back seats, any mods done?
>>
>>16844700
300zx TT by miles.
>>
>>16846015
>And why
>>
>>16846024
Every conceivable reason; its like 1000x cooler.
>>
>>16846046
Maybe if your gay lol
>>
>>16844700
350Z

looks better (aka its not ugly like a Z32)
sounds better
nicer interior
newer/less of a bitch
>>
>>16846050
sorry to insult your bubble car na v6 shitbox.
>>
>>16846057
I'll give you the fact that it sounds nicer, but the interior in the z33 is actually a load of shit

Why does everyone on /o/ love the look of 90's shitboxes? The 300zx is ugly as fuck, straight out of the 80's or 90's with that styling. Buying a car with that much performance only to have it look like shit is mind boggling. The only people that think this shit looks good saw them as kids and idolized them
>>
>>16846097
If a car is from the 90's then the styling will be straight out of the 90's (are you fucking stupid?)
And I'm 22 and only recently ever seen a 300zx and think it looks dope
>>
>>16846094
theyre both pretty shit but Id take the Z33 over it any day

really hate the Z32 dash and prefer Z33 seats

>>16846097
>The only people that think this shit looks good saw them as kids and idolized them

Z32 was the first car I liked and even I think it looks like shit now

it aged horribly

>>16846130
Z32 is from the 80s...
>>
>>16845189
It's all subjective, but without looking into their aftermarket, I'd look at Nismo, Borla, or Magnaflow. I'd have to look into it, but the big brand names exist for a reason.
>>
>1996 300zx TT
>222 hp
>198'lbs

>1995 Maxima
>190 hp
>205'lbs

Can I get an A32 instead of a Z32?
>>
>>16844760

The newest Z32s are 17 years old already.
>>
>>16844876

I think 2+2 is better looking
>>
>>16846162

Fast foward about 6 years... 300hp 6 speed maximas being churned out by nissan. Such a great car for the money (used maximas before 04)
>>
>>16846148
>Z32 is from the 80s...
????
The Z31 you mean?
>>
>>16846001
It's my first car, but compared to the limited library of other vehicles I'be driven, it's the only one I actually enjoy driving. It is a little heavy, but it's got great steering feel and very well balanced

I've got strut tower braces, a cold air intake, under drive pulley, and magnaflow exhaust. And it sits on 18 wheels from 20(04?) 350z
>>
>>16844700
Bruh Z32 TT 2+2
Obviously. 300ZX looks way better anyways.
>>
>>16846204
they came out in 89

they dont even look 90s
>>
>>16845917
That's fine, Z32 2+2 has better sways on it in the NA and TT form than the 2 seater.
>>
>>16846234
Would you pick the 300zx over the 350z then?
>>
>>16846231

It literally looks like an early 90s car. There’s quite a lot of overlap between the decades anyway, its not as clear cut as most like to believe.
>>
>>16846270
Also if OP thought the car looked like shit he wouldnt be struggling to make a decision between the 300zx and the 350z
>>
>>16846001
As for the seats, they're impractical for storing humans larger than 4 ft tall, but it does offer a convenient place to put stuff.
Obviously be ready to replace the t top seals, or the top if you buy a convertible (don't buy a convertible).
The automatic transmission isn't great, but hasn't given me any trouble yet. You'd be better served with a manual. The N/A is very underpowered by today's standards, so don't expect to race anyone without significant modifications. Most will tell you to just buy a TT, but if you want a 2+2 you'll either have to swap it or do some work because boltons don't do much for it.

If you're not trying to do stoplight races or roll races, it's a good car for spirited drives through the country with the tops down on a nice afternoon.
>>
>>16846292
I'm in the UK so the 2+2 I'm looking at is TT (I think theyre about the same power as a 350z) I just want to know which would be better to daily to be honest, I love the look of both cars but the 300zx would stand out way more here than a 350z
>>
>>16846248
Yep. As long as you're willing to do the work on it it'll give you a very high return value.
>>
>>16846344
Project cars are stupid, and 300zx's don't really sell for more than £7000 here in the UK
>>
>>16846311
Sorry I thought you were someone else. If it's been well maintained it':s definitely a nice car. It seems like all Zs have electrical gremlins (my radio doesn't work, carbon buildup on turn signal means it switches the high beams on when it's cold and drains the battery), but early my z33 seem to have significant issues also.

What'a the mileage on the example you're looking at?
>>
>>16846353
I never said buy a project car. I said as long as you're willing to do the work on it.

Timing belt is the biggest one, and you'll most likely have to begin replacing injectors if you get a 89-93 model.
I'd rather do a timing belt every 5 years and have a great engine for mods (the TT stock bottom end can handle a lot) than deal with having slightly more power at the expense of burning oil ever 1000 miles and a dated as fuck interior.
>>
>>16846366
The car has 80,000 on the clock and apparently had a full engine rebuild done around 8000 miles ago, the owner wanted to get aftermarket turbos but got a baby instead
>>
I was looking at a 350z in the UK too OP, but I want something I can get more power out of more easily, (people struggle with the n/a v6) anyone got any ideas for something >£8000 that'll smoke my mates (@~4/500hp) and sit nice at car meets?
>>
>>16846407
Sounds like it's been well taken care of. If you have the cash to replace the turbos, that would be good. There should have been (and most likely was) a timing belt service, so you should be in the clear for a while so long as you maintain it.
I say go for it.
>>
>>16846440
£8000 for the car, id be modifying to get to the 500hp of course
>>
>>16846443
Yeah I've been leaning towards the 350z just because it's slightly more modern but I think I'll go with the 300zx and swap those turbos out for something like twin gt2554rs and a couple of supporting mods later on down the line. I think i would've picked the 350z had it been a little more easier to make more power.
>>
>>16846450
bump
>>
>>16846191
That photo has terrible perspective distortion. Makes both cars look bad.

I think they both look good in their own way. The 2+2 is much better if it's on bigger wheels and lowered. Its proportions balance out better than the stubby 2-seater.

Maybe interesting to someone in here. How the 2+2, 2 seater and AE86 compare in size. Not at a perfect angle, but surprising either way.
>>
Why didn't you pick the VQ35HR?
>>
350z b/c the 300z motor is a bitch to fix
>>
>>16848273
The HR costs a fair bit more and from what I've heard it's easier to make power from the DE
>>
Nissan Qashqai. I'd really pick that.
>>
>>16848824
You won't make much for power gains on a N/A DE especially a Rev-up, not to mention it's going to burn oil like it's a rotary lol
