It's easily read, it's just a bitch to focus on. Colors on a cell phone cam are out of sorts, distance sensor on a DSLR prefers the background than the projected HUD which makes it hard to take a pic of.

I have them and like it because I can see my speedometer without taking my eyes off the road at all, but it can suck at night if it's too bright.

I wouldn't pay full price though. If I didn't get them for $5 or less, I wouldn't bother. The navdy one looks pretty cool, but $500? Fuck that, I already have a dash mount for my phone.

You can get ones with oil pressure, oil temp, etc. It's whatever your OBD2 port makes available.

Most of them don't have it because if your car doesn't support it, it'll read zero. Mine is the most basic because I know it'll work on any car I have.

My factory hud has the speed, a tach and let's you flip between gas, oil pressure and coolant temp. I rarely ever look down at the dash and it was a great learning tool to drive stick.

I don't give a shit how fast I'm going and I don't need the tach to know when to shift. My steering wheel happens to block half the shit in the dash, too. Haven't been pulled over in 10 years even tho I'm a habitual speeder. Get on my level, brats.

I was using manual focus. It's just tricky to get right. It appears crisp in the viewfinder even if it isn't sharp in the actual photo.

If I leave autofocus on, it focuses on the steering wheel/front base of the HUD.
