I have a 305 stock and I'm putting a 350 out of a 71 Chevy in it any thoughts on what to do to build it I was thinking aluminum heads high rise intake with 454 injectors
scrap the boat anchors and throw in a JY 4.8/5.3/6.0

not bad
I already have the 350 im planing on building it
>>16820541
what kinda build? the reason the newer engines are better is you dont need special snowflake oil because they have roller tappets.
i fucking hate special oil

Triple his engine in two easy letters! LS!
>>16820367
>'71 350
>injectors
???
The fuel system is of the 88 first year they did fuel injection im going to put that on the 71

Or just use a longblock that isn't shit
The 71 was free so im building form there
Heads. You need heads, badly. Get some Full CNC AFR's. Don't settle for anything less.

I was thinking maybe aluminum vortec heads
>>16820367
if you are budget building,
just get a complete jy vortec 350 and be done.
teardown, inspect, replace as needed.
When you have the heads inspected, have the valve guides milled down for clearance for a higher lift cam.
dont throw a bunch of random shit at it and expect it to run.
Full CNC AFRs would be killer but a waste.Factory vortecs flow enough for 400 at the wheels before they become a restriction.
please do some homework. The TBI system is junk for performance. There so many better options now in the year of our lord 2017. ditch the idea of ever using the tbi system. upgraded injectors, throttle body or a custom burnt chip will never work. Go carb or upgrade that junk.
run the numbers on the 71 block, probably not nothing worth noting.
