nope, my guess is you're very unfamiliar with the profession and what industries pay the salaries you think I should make.

none of my colleagues with similar years of experience, even the one from halliburton, made close to what you apparently think a ChE makes. starting salaries were high 50's to low 60's when I graduated... came from a top ten engineering school from the US Big 10.

engineers don't start out making six figures lol and most graduates are pretty oblivious. book smart kids that can't solve real world engineering problems.

they can, but most fresh grads turn tail when they see what it actually takes to make that kind of money.

the job isn't easy though. currently at the end of the installation phase of a new process Ive been in charge of designing and installing, acting as the GC as well. only engineering work I couldn't legally do was the structural work since I'm not a licensed SE and ChE schooling doesnt focus on such material.

the reason i ask is because i'm doing a phd that is pretty much chemical engineering, but the degree is in mechanical engineering. the offers people from my lab have been getting were in the 80-90k range and entry positions for phd holders are generally considered lower paying vs having the same amount of years of experience in industry as you spent on the phd.

>>16820795
field service positions are considered the lowest of the low, so that is hardly surprising. in one of the jobs i applied for everyone that i checked on linkedin had their bachelors degrees from shit like devry or itt. instead of giving me an offer for the full position they tried to put me in a "temporary" intern position that's the same as the full time position except that it paid $19/hour.

in all honestly, if i were a fresh grad i would have probably taken it. the problem was that at that time i had 2 years of grad courses completed plus the work i was doing for those 2 years heavily overlapped with the position requirements. a position, mind you, that allegedly required no experience yet they tried to force me into an internship to save money.

I started driving it, then buying progressively larger quantities at a very steep bulk discount, and then began my own cultivation while maintaining the previous bulk distribution relationships.

On a good day I have spent 2 or 3 hours and made 6 or 8k in profit.

There are downsides but in the end the risk for reward ratio is far better in my opinion than spending 40 hours a week to make a fraction of what can be made turning over weed.

>All these people complaining McDonald's doesn't pay a livable salary
That depends on the franchise owner too. Some McDonald's are owned by fairly liberal owners who already have made a lot of money. As a result, in the owner's waning years, they increased the wages and even put in programs supporting employees trying to educate themselves.

One set of Macs paid employees the same wages up to 10 hours per week to study there as long as spare tables were available. Predictably, anti-discrimination activists heard about it and filed discrimination lawsuit!!! <-- I know more than one ! is bad, but I am still angry. The owner is trying to help the community, but since blacks mostly don't go to college, they get buttmad that such a work program doesn't give blacks an equal benefit. The owner had to cancel the pay to study program because it was discriminatory to pay people to study for college.

Dick's Drive In is a burger joint with 5 locations and is easy to get hired at if you have a positive attitude towards work and have a clean healthy attitude. The minimum starting salary is $13 USD per hour there, they have regular raises, and they have 401K and medical for all employees and part-time employees once you pass the probationary period. The only problem is there is a waiting line to get hired there.

>paying people to study is racist?
It creates a racist situation because blacks don't study since they don't go to college. Thus paying employees to study is the same as increasing the gap between blacks and everyone else.

My opinion is that the blacks are simply jealous of anything they can't get entitlements. They interpret everything as racism. When their only tool is an anti-racism_hammer, every problem or task in the world becomes interpreted by them as a variation of racism.

Everyone needs to eat, but Bill Gates eats better food than me, so that is racism.

I can't afford to go to college, but you can, so you got to go because of racist policies and a racist economic system that let your racist parents help you financially.

I can't go to college because I got kicked out of high school for selling lsd and marijuana and I king-hit 8 students knocking some teeth out and breaking 3 jaws. That is racist man. Totally racist.

did the whole work since 15, uni, was an accountant at 21 but was basically working as one since 19 part time. mad depression was getting worse. basically quit life at 23.

NEET for a few years. only got a job again about 6 months ago. was hard though. seemed like people saw my old career and education as a turn off for these shitty jobs.

was serious about getting a job about 2 years ago after I got professional help for the depressions.

real talk though, if you or you know someone you suspect has depressions get them to seek help. it's hard to swallow your pride and acknowledge you need help but fuck man it's not worth losing years out of your life. and once I took that first step things started to look alright again

even though I earn jack shit than I was before I am in a much better place.

>Anyone who says over 40k is usually lying... considering the median *household income* is 50k

People can just google a phrase like "What is the median income in seattle?" and change the city name to something else.

http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/data/80000-median-wage-income-gain-in-seattle-far-outpaces-other-cities/

"The Census Bureau produces these annual income estimates only for places with at least 65,000 residents. Washington has 17 cities that meet this threshold.

"Seattle’s median household income broke the $80,000 mark in 2015, jumping nearly $10,000. It was the highest rise of any major U.S. city.

"If your household earns less than $80,000 per year, you’re now in the minority in Seattle.

"According to the new data, more than one in five Seattle households have earnings above $150,000."

Picture of Washington and greater seattle area /o/ Meet from 2016 August. Even in August, there are ice caves in the mountain areas. The Meets have a combination of driving mixed with some other activity. One time it was shooting a variety of guns, another time to Mount Rainier, another time to a hike to the ice caves and mini glacier debris field.

ECUs are $20 at a junkyard I goto and I'd just want $25 for the ecu and shipping. You'd go from 205hp to 225 or if its a b235 to 240-255hp.

Motor, turbo, and transmission, I'll give you a tune. Anyone with a 1998-2003 Saab should hit me up, just saying. Ez tunes, ecu is behind glove box(7 hex screws) on 9-3s and should be near wipe blades in front on 9-5s.
