What do you think about this car? Did anyone of you had it?

I am thinking about buying one. I live outside of the city so I need a car with a little bit higher suspension (no serious off-road business).

I was also considering Ford Maverick 2.0, 124 BHP. What are your recommendations for about 3 - 4K USD? I live in Central Europe if it helps.

if you can find used Forester, 2.0 N/A in a good shape for that money, it would be better choice should you need some proper awd car of that size and era.

That's a nice proposition. I had this prejudice though that they are expensive to maintain. Is it any true?

I read some reviews on 1.6 105 BHP and it was stated that it does about 10L/100 km [24 MPG] premium fuel at that. That kinda puts me off for a relatively small car with a 1.6 engine.

You fucking people make me mad. How fucking ... ok i'll try to be polite.
How FUCKING DUMB...
polite that is ok ok

What do you ff...cking expect from 10 - 15 years old car?! Do you even imagine how many dumb owners car could have had during those years? It's a CAR THAT IS ALMOST AS OLD AS AVERAGE /o/ POSTER! 10L/100km is BAD?! Well fk you then if its bad! 1.6 engine, so what?! If it's 1,6 is supposed to be 15 years old and consume 6 liters in city traffic with constant stops and accelerations?! FUCK I AM MAD NOW, FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING BUS FUCKING RIDER I HATE YOU FUCK YOU

I never claimed knowledge in that matter.

I filtered your post so that it helps me with my further lookings. Thanks.

Small engines in large cars are not economic. I work with a guy who has a 1.6 Focus and he only gets 30mpg. Get the 2.0, you'll still get 24mpg but also won't have to hammer the engine every time you pull onto a motorway.

First, check for rust on rear fenders. If there is none, it means it was garaged and you don't have to be afraid. It should last forever. In my family we had one with 360k km and it didn't even eat oil...

As for maintenance on that car, make sure that the dual range gearbox works smooth - in other works, does not make any noise. Maybe even consider changing that fluid and ask for thicker (more viscous) one - because front diff is within gearbox case and it is lubricated by the same oil, there are 2 specifications which are acceptable for that gearbox - one is thinner gearbox oil, other is thicker differential-grade hypoid drive oil. Go for thicker, gearchanges will be harder but it will last forever... and while you are at it, change the rear diff oil too, many people just don't do it, like ever. If you do that, it will never let you down.

If you end up with a model that has self-leveling rear axle get ready to have those shocks replaced one day.. they last about 160k km at most. Or just replace them with some coilovers - you will lose self-leveling feature but it is cheaper and will be less of a pain in the ass.

Other than that it is like any other japanese car - parts wise and labor wise. You can cheap on some wreckers cars too as rusty ones end up there these days (while still perfectly drivable).

Thanks a lot. I'm a "better safe than sorry" type of guy so if a car awards me with reliability for making sure everything is in check then I am all for it.
>>
A friend of mine had one, I've driven it a little bit (300km)
I don't understand the point of it desu, and the fuel economy was bad.
>>
>>16811732
It was 24 MPG when it launched you moron.

You can see over the hedges (don't wanna kill some kid or a dog), better view overall, I like the styling, for that price you can either buy boring Fiesta or VW Polo.
