Why did Volkswagen opt for superchargers instead of turbochargers?
>>16805463
I have a compound charged VW, but what do you mean exactly?
mine has a turbo water you talking about op
>>16805495
>>16805527
Don't all new models come with the TDI badge?
>>16805533
YES
T OF TDI STANDS IN FACT FOR SUPERCHARGER AND NOT TURBO.
>>16805533
the diesel models are TDI
what do you mean?
>>16805562
Turbocharged Direct Injection some shit
>>16805557
Wrong. T stands for Turbosupercharged.
>>16805572
>>16805562
Wrong again.
T stands for TrueN/A
>>16805581
Stupid fuck. It stands for tiny dick injectors
>>16805568
Are you retarded? Diesel engine VW's are "TDI" across the board.
Turbo engines get labelled TSI.
TSI stands for “turbocharged straight injection” and was inspired by the technology of Volkswagen's TDI Clean Diesel and FSI direct fuel injection engines.
>>16805463
>TDI
Turbocharged Direct Injection, diesel only
>TSI
Turbocharged Stratified Injection, petrol only
>SDI
Suction Diesel Injection/Suction Diesel Direct Injection, N/A diesel only
>>16805527
>twist off oil filter to change it
>it dumps its residual oil all over the turbo sitting directly beneath it
Who the FUCK designed that shit
>>16805832
but why the fuck would you want a NA diesel? any stock diesel can run a turbo
>>16805844
That is clearly a supercharger
>>16805844
That's an alternator pal
>>16805857
wew lad, lurk before bosting
>>16805855
Idk they sound like turbos when I drive them but I dont have much experience with superchargers.
>>16805855
>but why the fuck would you want a NA diesel?
It's good choice if you have small company and fleet of pic related because they were reliable, cheap to maintain and economical. Nowadays TDIs are much better than before and they made SDIs obsolete
>>16805625
>turbocharged straight injection
Turbo stratified injection you silly fuck
>>16805832
then what does FSI mean?
t. 2.0 FSI driver
>>16805931
Fuel stratified injection, petrol with direct injection
