I want to get an auto civic, I heard certain model years had terrible auto trannys. What gens ones should I avoid
early-mid 2000s

Do you know specifically what years
>>16792150
>tfw 2005 Civic auto with nearly 170k and literally not repairs outside of regularly scheduled maintenance
I'm just waiting for something bad to happen. I've been way too lucky with this car because I've heard it's common to have tranny issues as well as poor placement of the A/C compressor, requiring replacement even for lower milage vehicles. Looking to seel for 3k to get another manual 4 door shitbox before something bad happens.

Just get a corolla.
They didnt have auto issues

>I want to get an auto civic
do you hate yourself or something?
>>16792136
why would you buy an auto civic? they're light, tossable cars, especially with a manual. if you don't know manual just learn. it's easy. hondas have some of the best shifters at any price point.
Get a manual or you're life will be regret.
It'll still be regret but not to that level.

Lol I just don't know stick
>>16792481
the fucking learn it you retard, you're never going to know how to do something without learning
>>16792471
I might just get a auto DD and buy a cheap standard to learn on
This is what I did, in a few months I'm buying my manual, just in time for le summer

A civic IS a cheap learner DD. The manual's are damn near unbreakable unless you really, really try.

2000-2005. 2006 and 2007 have a problem with cracked blocks. You are better off with a corolla or a cavalier

>and buy a craigslist $3kGixxer 1000 to learn on
fixed man. cars are dumb as hell if you care about feedback. no mnual comes close

My 2006 civic's transmission got stuck in 3rd after only 110,00 miles. Even after the repair by Honda the transmission stutters and shakes the whole car when shifting from 1st to 2nd if I accelerate too slowly or if I drive at 15mph. Other than that, it has been a fine car. I'd shoot for something else though as others have.
