>As of October 2014 the CIA was also looking at infecting the vehicle control systems used by modern cars and trucks. The purpose of such control is not specified, but it would permit the CIA to engage in nearly undetectable assassinations.

Everyone? Read your literature. They're killing some people, while others are actually getting nicer weather and an increase in arable land.
The keyword is conserving nature not preserving the planet's ability to support life (except for diesel shitboxes and catless wonders that spew literal poison)
If they had the slightest idea how modern cars worked they would know how stupid this is. Critical systems are on a private CAN bus. "Hacking" that would be like someone putting a virus on your computer that turned your faucet on, it's not connected. Meanwhile if you actually want to "hack" any car you can cut the brake lines in .2 seconds or break the wheel bearing nut loose.

>Critical systems are on a private CAN bus
Wasn't that kerfuffle with the Jeeps awhile ago because critical systems weren't on a private CAN bus?
Besides, I'm pretty sure they were also looking into devices that would be attached to the car system to fiddle with things, and that wouldn't be stopped by air-gapping CAN buses.
