As for the mirage, I just don't see it being worse than the other cars in the same segment (aygo, c1, 108 and so on), and I drove the 69hp variant.

I've had a 2015 Mirage for about a year now. It has 74 horsepower, even less than the 2017. I paid $10.6k for it brand new, 8 miles on the odometer. At that price for a new car with a 100k mile warranty it was a deal. Averaging 40+ mpgs, about $12 to fill up. I'm 6'1 250 lbs and I fit in it now problem. It is a slow car, but for city driving it thrives. It's a reincarnated Geo metro to put it simply.

Just idle in first. Don't use the gas to close the gap, it'll naturally close as things slow down again. If the average speed of traffic is less than the speed of idling in first, take it out of gear for 10 or 20 seconds out of each minute or whatever. If it's literally stopped, you're better off than in an automatic because you don't have to hold the brake down the entire time.
