So /o/, I found this piece of a car from the 30's or 40's and have no idea what it could be due to it's condition.

Looks like potential scrap since this is the only part of it and it's rusted badly.
>but maybe what you said isn't a bad idea
>branch in the way when I took this one

Could be a thirties coupe or even a puck up. It's hard to tell. The best clue is the shape of the vent in front of the windshield. Do so research.
>>
Looks like a hunk of junk

>that solenoid

did chebbys use seperate solenoids for their starters back in the day? I know atleast as far back as '52 they did.
>>
If it was from the 30's or 40's, it was most likely shit
>>
>>16778204
Most cars did. It might surprise you then that even into the 60's some cars had electric starters as an option, rather than being standard equipment.
>>
>>16778222
or rather, the chevy starters had an built in solenoid, where as others had a seperate solenoid mounted in the firewall and fender well or what not. I fucked that post up a bit

Looks like the front half of a cab from a 54 ford pickup.
>>
>>16777952
It's what's left of a 1940-1947 ford pickup truck cab.....
>>
>>16778246
Yes. Chevy (GM) did kickstart the built in solenoid fad. I think it was Cadillac department that originally used/designed it (in the 40's IIRC, after the first gen hydramatic).

Forgot my pic........

Its a Jailbar 40s ford truck cab, like others have said, basically the only thing of any value there would be the gas pedal linkage and cowl vent. In case you didn't know it is sitting on its back with the firewall facing up
