You need to take a true katana and thrust it down through the stick shift, splitting the original and pressure-bonding the hardened blade steel into the linkage. Remember, katanas can cut inferior homogenous steel, so be careful that you've got it lined up right or you could end up severing your entire transmission.

Most shifter mounts are the same, typically just a small 3/4 inch by 1.5 inch piece of steel with two holes in it that bolts to the actual shifter. You could just mig weld something together if you don't shift like a maniac
