Looks like a classic case of snow covering the lines of the parking spaces.

Then the snow melted and op had a fit over it.

Not OP, but something similar happened just 2 days ago with an afternoon snow that covered up the lines. A rain followed melting the snow that same afternoon. And lots of cars were misparked due to the snow.

No excuse for that cheapskate parking lot extension. The lampost was probably originally outside the lot, but the property owner added extra parking spaces as seen by the different asphalt. Without a barrier, it's only a matter of time before that delicate decorative-style lamp post is hit and knocked over.
