Bought a dashcam recently, have only had it a while but have already managed to record something noteworthy.

Was just a pull between my Prelude and some 5.3 Silverado, but I wasn't expecting to be able to catch him and it was a nice feeling to be able to relive it.

>>
>>16752765
Looks good, those fuckin dashcams do better in bad lightning than most cheap phones, I'm saving up for a Garmin.
>>
>>16752779
The quality on the dashcam itself is 1080p and looks amazing. You can make out plate numbers and everything. I'm just paranoid, so I uploaded at a quality where street signs, plate numbers, etc. are nice and blurry but it's not unwatchable.

10/10 purchase, especially for someone with liability insurance it's stupid not to invest in one now that the prices have come down.

Thinking about putting the integra up for sale. How much should I ask for it?
bone stock, 124k miles, 5spd, B18C1 that came with the car. Honestly there's an LS from 2000 posted nearby for 4,500 with 135k miles so I was thinking somewhere in the ballpark of 6-7, what do ya'll think?
Only cons are
>1/6 speakers work
>minor ding in rear quarter panel (mostly paint damage)
I plan on installing new speakers whether I keep or sell it, but if ya'll think I'm pulling a boomer-tier move let me know because I really like this car as a daily.

Think I'm gonna do fog lights soon. One of my LED low beams went out so I'm gonna do a warranty claim to replace it. Went ahead and got new ones already in then I noticed the fog lights use the same bulb as the Denji low beams. When I get my old pair replaced I'll use those for fogs. Not sure if yellow or clear lens though.

My damn dashcam beeped at me because I had yet to set it up properly and I edited it out, but you could hear both engines straining as soon as we are both straightened out. A dig though would be interesting, since it would be lack of torque vs lots of weight.
>>
>>16752826
and by "kinda" I mean "entertaining the notion" because most of my options wouldn't make for good DDs, which the new car would have to do

Timing cover is warped with marks from contact with the pulleys and has no gasket, but it hasn't interfered with the belt or hasn't damaged it.

Put it back on or wait to find another?
>>
>>16752995
Put it back on, an exposed timing belt can pretty much last it's use life, so one that's covered but not 100 percent sealed shouldn't have a problem either.
>>
>>16753012
We're getting a new timing belt on there, so I was a little worried. Hope I find another one.

Mine might be doing the same thing. I remember driving to get ramen with a friendo, and starting the car after and it dying unless I gave it gas. That could be more related to my timing being way off though.
My gas is leaking out onto the intake manifold. It's not a huge amount, but if it gets worse I could be in for some problems. Gonna try replacing all the seals before buying new injectors.

If anyone has a 1 st Gen Honda Fit or specifically a 2007 Fit Sport with a problem with the rear hatch. I think I found the problem.

I have a whole series of photos but basically the actuator weakens and can't connect the cable lever to the lock lever via the white
plastic arms

I'm going to try and grease it and maybe use a dremel to widen the slot the white arms slide in allowing it to travel easier.

So I got this big ass tool bag that I always keep in the back of my car. It's heavy as fuck and I know I don't need all that shit with me in the car at all times. What should I keep in the car to keep it lightweight?

>1/4in stubby ratchet with long and short sockets
>3/8in ratchet with long and short sockets
>3/8in breaker bar for wheel lugs
>pliers and cutters
>zip ties
>phillips and flat head screwdrivers

That's off the top of my head. I swear my tool bag weighs over 40 pounds. Having it compact would also help for any junkyard runs I do in the future.

I got it in may of 2011 when I was 15, I told my mom I'd keep it as long as I could because she was paying 399 shekels, so I did, definitely needing something new for LTE because the browser has no HTML5 javascript support and I don't want to tether.

Definitely worth it. Service providers have gotten good enough to where I dropped my home internet and just tether off my phone while I'm home. It's leagues faster than the 6.5m/bit DSL AT&T gave me. Literally my only choice at this apartment complex when they know they could be giving me U-Verse or something from this decade. They rather charge me $100+ a month for that shit instead

Fucking jews.
>>

That's pretty badass for 3G.

What I got now is just about 40 times faster than my old DSL. Paying a fifth of the price too. Only adds $25 to my phone bill to have unlimited LTE tethering. T-Mobile is so fucking based.

AT&T had a 150GB data limit too. Charged extra if we went past that.
>>

>18.45 up with 80ms
Fuck you could game on that, my TWc cable always says 13ms and shit but when you're gaming it feels like you're 500ms behind other players.
>>
>>16756328
Yeah I've been waiting years for them to have some kind of unlimited tethering plan. Jumped on it as soon as it started. It can be a bit spotty at times but even at its slowest, it's better than what I used to have.

It's real nice to download a 30+GB game the same night I buy it. I used to have to plan out when to run my downloads so I can have it ready within a week. Plus had to deal with the data cap bullshit, and the random outages.
>>
>>16756354
That's pretty good, I also held onto my N8 because I had an unlimited data plan for non smartphones back in 2011 when they were going hard with the 2GB cap and ATT didn't know my Nokia N8 IMEI, now they do and It's unlimited but slows down after 3gb, definetly gonna get T-mobile under my own name when I get a better job.
>>
>>16756368
Yeah they're a 10/10 provider. They say my priority for speed is dropped after 28GB of data usage but I don't even notice it. Currently at 34GB. I've done 150+ with no issues when I downloaded a bunch of games.

Rust/body rot, abusive owners and poor modifications. They are civics so mechanical parts are available, but still very old and not everything is gonna work or feel right. Plastics and body panels are challenging to find.

If retro aesthetic is for you, get a first gen. If you want a project car, get a second gen because double wishbone all around rather than torsion bar and solid axel.

Hi all, i'm in need of a fun commuter to store these two fuckers for weekend use. What car do i buy? I've been leaning towards CRX,Integra RS or GSR,maybe Prelude.
>5k
>better MPG's
>manual
>>
>>16761886
>5k
Get a nice condition RSX manual, it's efficient, it's ignition coils and timing chain so it's really modern.
>>
>>16761891
maybe i can spare a bit extra for the type-s, not a bad car at all. but i'm guessing it will have well over 100k miles
>>
>>16761886
If a highway driver, I'd get a GSR or Prelude. CRX or Civic for city driving.
>>
>>16761886
Mazda3.
>>
>>16761898
my commute is a total of about 30 miles a day, little city mostly highway. The Integra is nice but i hear they are thief magnets, preludes are subtle and comfy looking, crx is godtier but always molested/stripped.
>>16761902
i don't feel comfortable with Mazda, although those early sedans are dirt cheap
>>
>>16761909
Preludes are pretty niche in the Honda world so you probably won't have to worry much about thieves. They got the comfiest seats too. I kind of want a pair in my Civic.
>>
>>16752570
nsx a best
>>
>>16761886
crx for dat 2 seater. i paid 2800 for my 94 civic vx and so far my best tank was like 47mpg. My commute is 50 miles with a lot of traffic, and when there isn't traffic I cruise at 80 which is after the VTAK-E kicks in so I'm sure i could get better.
>>
>>16761909
I have a 92 Integra.
If you can find one in good condition, they are reliable, have really nice handling and enough power for daily and highway.

You've reminded me to buy a steering lock for her.
>>
>>16761925
>tfw Si trans

My highway MPG is either the same or worse than my city MPG. Gotta be real careful with the throttle on the highway to match it.
>>
>>16761929
forgot to mention they're non-vtec, But the engines are simple to work on and still high revving
>>
>>16761920
any specific prelude i should lean for? would be a 5th gen if any.
>>16761925
think i'm better off just waiting for that one mint crx to blow most the budget money? what models/years had AC?
>>16761929
worth it for the gsr model on that gen? or should i just deal with ls,rs,gs and such
>>
>>16761942
Both the base model and SH models have the same amount of horsepower (200). SH just has ATTS which helps for cornering as it can send more power to the outside wheel to make it spin 15% faster than the inside wheel. I read that parts for the ATTS stuff is harder to find so it's more popular to go for a base model for simplicity's sake.

http://www.preludeonline.com/f60/base-vs-sh-229597/
>>
>>16761942
The gsr is a 1.6l vtec engine, with some improvements in power and such. If you can find one yes, but for a daily driver when you already own a Subaru and an 86, im sure the normal ones would be fast enough and fun to drive. I have the Ls, i dont know about the RS.
>>
>>16761957
i'll see if i can find an RS, i'm not a fan of sunroofs

Just do stuff like check cv joints for rips and leakage, bounce each corner of the car to see if the shocks aren't worn and bouncing up and down more than 2 times, and open the oil cap while idling to see if it's pushing a shit ton of blow by and it's not worn out horribly, and you can check the valve cover for leaks as well as turn the wheels all the way to the left and see if the transmission is leaking from under.

About to hit the bed but I'm looking at speakers. I got holes in my door panels that were cut for tweeters so this would be perfect. I bet it would sound a million times better than the old worn out Wal-Mart Sony speakers. Only $66 on Amazon, twice that on Crutchfield.

Didn't even think about aftermarket tweeters. OEM ones are overpriced and wouldn't even be good because they're 20+ years old.

Oh in that case just go to the gym 3x a week in addition to working. You're lifting for work, not mires. Get a hair cut every 3 weeks, get your eyebrows threaded by your local Indian hair salon monthly, trim or shave your facial hair, always brush your teeth (mouthwash & floss too) before leaving the house, shower daily, exfoliate your face, apply a moderate amount of cologne before leaving the house, and learn how to be more effay.

Take care of yourself anon and people will notice.

I'm so sorry, that's awful. And unfortunate - those wheels are beautiful. And yeah, I feel you, I accidentally got my arm pretty bad when I was stripping the clear coat.
Anyway, in terms of maintenance on the thing, nothing new to report. Not bothering to fix the other stuff until I can afford a set of new tires.
Speaking of tires, any good but cheap brands you guys recommend? Kinda on a budget.

The one big bargaining chip I have is the fact it's been sitting on that lot for eight months. The small chip is that there's one for sale in Virginia, same year and trim, but black with 15k on it listed at $11.5k.

I've been rolling on pic related from tireseasy.com. I even got approved to pay for them over six months for an extra $16. I figure with all the miles I drive, it'll be time for a new set by the time I make the last payment.

They don't feel bad at all for the price. Definitely has my approval for my delivery driving.

Here's what they looked like before I got to them. The sides of the spokes had kind of a matte surface so I had to use tons of aircraft stripper and wire brushes to get all the paint off. Ended up buying my current wheels after I found out they didn't fit. Sold them for about a hundred bucks to some guy.

It's kind of a huge fucking pain.
I go from 320 grit sandpaper upwards to 2000, then buff on some rubbing compound and polish. When I'm satisfied with it I'm gonna clear coat it. It took a while to get into the groove of things but once I did I got this far in two hours.

Aside from that it looks pretty good. Camber kits can be used to keep the wheel straight when lowering a car. Pretty much a necessity when lowering my EG. I would have bad camber if I still had the stock arms.

These instructions are perfect. There's no way to fuck this up now. Gonna get all I need from Radio Shack and blast fools with my Supertones. Never driven one myself but it's a very popular choice for a somewhat modern Honda. Those along with the 7th gen Civic Si hatchback are the cheapest ways to get a car with a K series. You can't really go wrong with one.

As for the bumper, I'm more of a fan of sticking a nice lip on a stock one.
