At the very least, Škoda is still around unlike other commie cars that didn't survive the fall of the system.
However a particular sad story is ARO, having well survived the fall of communism until 2003 only to be killed later after building a somewhat good reputation inside and outside the country.
There is a revival attempt by some student folks, but it looks pretty...unenthuastical really.
