As some who does a fuckton of vectoring for /w/, I can see how there is minimal effort put into his vectors. They are barely passing, and will sell because it looks great for the 1st few glances. Then after that, you see all the mistakes and it doesn't look so pretty.

Hey man, I actually appreciate it.

I put a lot of time and effort to what I do because I can honestly say for me vectoring is becoming a passion. But I'm not anywhere near up to scratch with some of the best people here who consistently make great designs. Or on /w/ for that matter. I am, by all means, a novice. That's why my designs aren't as good as they can be.

So what can I do? What I see as the right decision is to keep making vectors and ask for criticism from the community and help from the pros. If you have any /w/ resources on vectoring or any places outside of Discord and /osg/ to go for help and critique, they would be greatly appreciated.

I did kind of lose inspiration right after finishing Iowa, but after talking with a lot of people and taking a look at some art in person (The Roy Lichtenstein exhibit in LA is great, by the way) I'm determined to keep at it and git gud.

My personal experience is a lot of sticker shops have opened up in recent weeks (Imouto was honestly right about it being due to easy accessibility, IMHO) and there are some good ones and some not so good ones. When people come in and ask for help, they get help.
When people post designs and get critique but are of the opinion their designs are nothing short of perfect, they can't be helped. tl;dr you can take a horse to a river but you can't make it drink. Need proof? Go through the last few threads and see if you can spot hoon samefagging to defend his critique. Some of his original designs could've gone somewhere if he reached out for help. He was a novice many others, including myself, are too. What separates him from the other few shops opening lately is that he won't take help.

Hoon's original lineup that started the whole controversey (The Night of Fire slap) he wasn't open to criticism. After some shit or other he got banned from the discord because I don't fucking know. Hoon came back under a new alias with a different shop and posted some designs. And asked for help. And he got help too, as you so stated. From me as well. And honestly, those designs as they currently are, are fine in my honest opinion. Doesn't appeal to me, but I don't see any major glaring design issues. If that's the path he's taking, I'm cool with it. In fact, great for him and I think that at the very least deserves some respect. I just don't have any friends or goal to work towards. I've got plenty of time, I'm 18, but I just don't feel like I belong here.

i really second what >>16738889 said. go see a counselor, they're hella useful and just talking to someone who's there to basically be an emotional punching bag with no strings attached is super helpful. after that, i recommend having a long hard think about what you feel passionate about, or enjoy doing as a hobby (if you dont have a hobby, try out a few and find one you enjoy) and chase it. stay in school, get a degree, have a backup plan, but having something to aim for, even if its retarded and far-fetched, makes life so much better, trust me.

I got my order today, bruh. They look great. The skeleton one is neat, it just looks like someone took a marker to a piece of brushed aluminum. And I carefully peeled back the corner on Reimu to see how clear she is. Damn, that's neat.
