Any car that had a pretty good engine in it and a manual transmission can last nearly forever if you maintain it well. Change the oil every 3k miles, change the coolant every 5 years, etc..etc..

Mercedes-Benz with required maintenance will get you to a million miles.
Will it live with no oil and constant high rpm shift and no maintenance that a toyota and an honda can survive? No.

I think its designed like that to do higher mileage on traditional oil as synthetic didnt existed back in the days.

In the manual it says 10K for an oil change while we all know its usually 5K on mineral.

DO NOT BUY VOLVO. And to clarify geo's stopped being produced late 90's. The geo metro is an excellent machine. Its budge and gets 40mpg. Keep in mind you are trading luxury for a gas saver.
