MAXIMUM ANAL DAMAGE FOR FORD AND YURONIPS

Can anyone stop the camaro?
>>
>>
God damn gm is killing it. What I wonder though is why they make the camaro super fast when you have the corvette as well. Seems strange to make so much effort making the camaro legendary on track when that's the vettes job
>>

from what I understand camaro and corvette have two separate development teams and gm has basically given each free reign. also, with the corvette transitioning to a mid engine car some might consider the cars to be in two similar, but distinct markets.

The z28 is go kart status then

I dont know how they are gonna make it faster if they stick with a NA engine.
This is the car that crashed at the hurrdurrring that /o/ keeps shitposting about lol.

They must have been heavily influenced by the GTR design.

>camaro and corvette have two separate development teams
If GM had did this fucking DECADES ago imagine how much better previous corvettes and camaros could've been? this could also be the reason they are just now going mid-engine with the Corvette (other than trying not to be bested by Ford's MR car in GTLM) they don't want the Camaro to take over the Corvette as their Halo car.

>>16724269
How? it looks nothing like a GTR. the only thing in common they have is aero bits with the Nismo (which also look nothing alike).

>>16724245
>>16724290
The only way i can see them topping this now is if the Z28 is some kind of DOHC 7 liter Turbo V8 with lots of carbon fiber (they are working on a DOHC V8 and Cadillac is still working on a twin turbo one). i was expecting an LS7 successor but fuck that isn't going to even be enough so why bother... i honestly cannot believe this was the car they were testing at the nurburgring and in all those spy-shots.
>>
>>16724174
ford niggers, make a GT500R to compete with this
also, where is the GT350R competitor you kikes? SS 1LE isn't powerful enough, nigger.

Shame I probably wont see many on the streets. If people don't buy them car makers might drop the market completely just how they did for the Viper. Shame really.
>>

>you could buy this car for around 70k, and live with the knowledge that your car is faster than the majority of modern super cars and literally 99.95% of what is on the road

Fuck, that sounds really appealing.

I'd buy one to support development and the fact I get to daily a god machine around but I'm a poorfag
>>
Leave it to GM to make a great looking car yet somehow find a way to make the grill look as plastic and shitty as possible.
>>
>>16724348
I like the new Camaro but hopefully this doesn't turn into a camaro shill show. i don't want a new "Europe vs America"/"Camaro vs GTR or (insert car here)" every damn day.

Basically don't become what the Alfa shills are becoming or ecoboost shills were.
>>
>>16724401
I've just accepted that this shitty ass board, is going to have at least 1 cancerous meme being spammed constantly at any given time.

At least Camaro vs GT-R spam would be entertaining catharsis for a week or two.
>>
>>16724348

GM says this car is 3 seconds faster than a regular ZL1 around the hurrdurring.
>>
>>16724411
No, it was the Milford Road Course which is a 2.9 mile track. Nordschleife is a 12.9 mile course. Ideally, that would translate into a 14 second advantage on Nurdburgerking, although that seems unrealistic. Supercharger heat soak, overheating tires, etc.

>Arguably the most significant change for the ZL1 1LE, though, is with the suspension. Instead of the standard ZL1's Magnetic Ride shocks, the ZL1 1LE gets Multimatic's genius spool-valve dampers. These are the same sort of shocks used to astonishing effect in the old Camaro Z/28. Beyond the dampers, the ZL1 1LE gets additional suspension tweaks to make it stiffer than the standard car.

So you pay more for a car that slower than a base ZL1 with the automatic? I don't get why it's manual only. The carbon fiber isn't going to make it faster than the auto version.

Could someone explain the difference between this suspension and regular MRC?
>>
>>16725296
That's the same tyre size the GT350 uses too though.
I won't bother looking, but the hellcat is probably around the same size too.

They have to use big tyres because all of them are front heavy.
>>
Why can't Americans make good looking cars?
>>
>>16727935
American sports cars don't lose much from going to manual, since they have good torque and don't need to worry about turbo lag/holding boost. At most you'd lose half a second around a track like Laguna.
>>
>>16726417
corvettes are usually for top speed anyway, camaro is now the track car, so it's a different segment, and I imagine the interior and ride quality is worse than corvette too.

My point was that the argument "if it didn't beat it on the same day by the same driver than it doesn't count" would come into play since that's the original argument used for those prezo pictures.

Also you got it backwards. Manufacturer conducted test are never taken as seriously vs 3rd party. all the hyper car comparison test were done by 3rd parties for benchmark not manufacturer.

lmao in your dream world. journalists favor whichever company gives them the most support
manufacturers only care about their product
journalists do a handful of hot laps in whatever condition and call it a day
manufacturers spend countless hours testing their cars

you are delusional

gtr has beaten corvette in two head to head comparisons
lost in none

i honestly think GM wants to move the Vette up to compete with the Ford GT and other super cars and then let the camaro move in where the vette used to be.

Im no GM fan, in fact i hate their shit, but there is no denying that the mustang cant really compete with the camaro anymore now. I mean fuck the fucking camaro goes toe to toe with a M4??
>>
>>16730678
>i honestly think GM wants to move the Vette up to compete with the Ford GT and other super cars and then let the camaro move in where the vette used to be.

This would be a great move for GM. With faster and faster cars, GM needs a super car to compete with Europe. The camaro would be the perfect fit to fill that void that the corvette left.

>but there is no denying that the mustang cant really compete with the camaro anymore now
Agreed
>>
>that feel when can't afford
>that feel when the SS will still be magnetic
Is the throttle response at least going to be better in the SS?
>>
>>16730678
This is exactly what they're doing, though I don't think they're moving the Corvette all the way into supercar territory.
I think it'll be at that level that the R8 was introduced at before its price started inflating wildly. The shift to mid-engine signifies a serious shift and it's probably going to piss off a lot of the boomers who can't stand change and get super touchy about their vettes, so it's certainly not a move that's being done without serious thought.

Btw, I drove an M4 on closed roads for a day and still ended up buying a Camaro. For me personally, it wasn't even close when you factored in price/performance.
I do hope the Mustang starts competing again though, it's better for everyone when they push each other.
>>
>>16730714
you have a point. honestly with boomers on their way out (cant fucking wait till their all gone) the vette is going to have less of a market to appeal to, but for millennials the camaro was what most could afford. So GM moves the camaro into a higher price bracket just as we get older and chase after it because thats the car we grew up with. The camaro will be the vette in our eyes when we get to our 50s which begs the question: "If the camaro "replaces" the vette, what will GM make to take over the spot that the camaro once held?"
>>
>>16730664
>journalists favor whichever company gives them the most support
So your saying any head to head any car wins or loses are payed losses/wins? so then winning a head to head by anyone anywhere would means nothing because anyone could've payed anybody and we'd have no way of knowing?

>journalists do a handful of hot laps in whatever condition and call it a day
That's exactly what they are supposed to do. that represents real world performance benchmarks and eliminates variables that would make a car artificially faster or slower. The same driver eliminates the variable in skill gap which can make any car seem faster or slower. These were original arguments you guys made against prezo. Not every manufacturer has access to the same driver as the other or clocks in the exact same amount of time.

>gtr has beaten corvette in two head to head comparisons
But the one you were talking about in>>16729303
has beaten the Camaro in none and that's the point.

>its subject to variables!
What variables is it subject to if they are both in the same place at the same time being driven by the same person in the same conditions vs the Nurburgring?

>manufacturers testing doing hours of runs in all conditions and using the best time is more representative of the true potential of the car more than anything else

But how would you ever know if one car is showing its best potential with the skill-gap in the drivers? unknown hours clocked in? and that just represents what the Manufacturer can do with the car Not what anybody will be able to do just taking the stock car to the track. usually cars at the ring are tweaked perfectly for the track and the driver and your car won't be and the only way you'd repeat that time yourself is if you put in the hours they did tweaking the stuff like they did. handing the keys to a single driver and running them back-to-back in the same conditions better represents the performance every car is going to actually deliver to the costumer from the factory. you also said 3rd parties aren't "verified"... who's verifying these ring times and what's stopping manufacturers from making their car look artificially better than it is by using none-stock stuff? even if they take a journalists or some kind of authority with them to watch what's stopping them from paying them to lie saying the car did "X" with "Y" when it didn't?

If the ring is the deciding factor for what's faster than why are you even saying the Nismo is faster than the C7 Z06 when neither Z06 or none-N-attack nismo GTR posted an official recorded time around the ring? if you were going off the N-attack alone then you would be saying the only GTR that has proven itself faster than the C7Z is the one that cost double the price (in the US, UK and German markets)

I would be very, very, VERY, surprised if GM made a TT Z28. I get the feeling the name will be retired for some time. The only way i can see them using the Z28 name plate is if they make a track only version wit his some crazy N/A motor. Kind of like the car copo, but meant to go around corners.

Also, I've heard they plan to make the MR vette along side the normal FR. And there will be more engine options for the vettes. But this is more rumor than fact.

>>16724196
Holding the camaro back to not step on that bet he's toes is one of the reasons the car died in the early 2000s.

The team behind the camaro had to always be mindful of not surpassing the base vette's abilities either irl or on paper which is why the car was always listed with lower hp even though it was the same engine and would dyno the same. Meanwhile ford had the opposite problem of only having the low end mustang and semi exotic gt to represent their performance division. Without a middle ground they had to cram everything in the sn95 chassis to satisfy a price range from $20k-$75k.

Coming from someone who followed the fourth gen pretty closely I was surprised when gm adopted the outlook they have today of letting each team shoot for the stars.
