Honestly, any of those diesels you've mentioned would have to suffer a failure to require a rebuild prior to 600,000kms, especially the Toyota and Nissan sixes. As long as the compression is good, it's not blowing any white/blue smoke and it's not missing then 300k kms wouldn't even bother me slightly. If it has got a miss, it could be a simple fix.
The Mitsubishi 4M4x diesels are also half million kilometer engines, but the first gen Pajero you mentioned was only available with a 4D5x diesel which was based on an Astron motor. The M series was released from the mid ninties.

An honourable mention, how about a BJ73 FRP top Cruiser? I'd specifically target a 13B-T (Toyota light truck diesel, not the rotary :P) powered version for longevity and reasonable economy. Unless you need a 5 door wagon.

The stereo is a little vague. It's got an aftermarket unit and the cables are just twisted together with black tape, they slightly come undone when I go around corners. I'll fix it when I can be fucked.

Otherwise I think everything in the engine bay should be okay but I'll have a thorough look tomorrow. I'll still go with the pro though since it doesn't cost much and he knows what he's doing.

5 days later he gets charged with assault and intent and I got charged with furious driving driving dangerous.

Engine on my 86 failed due to oil burned out.

Checked it 6,000KM ago it was full.

Saying they won't repair it under warranty etc want a new engine over 15 grand.

I told them to get fucked I want to take it locally and have a second hand one put in for only $4650 including labor, engine and parts.

Worst part is they want me to pay $2000 for the cost of them taking the engine apart to determine the cause even though they knew what the cause was before even opening the hood.
