Ford Announces Lighter GT Competition Series

>remove all interior comforts out of desperation
Is this the benchracing model?
>>16718177
Porsche does it, why not Ford? I'd be curious to see if they'll do anything like the LM body kit too.
>tfw you never appreciated how fucking gorgeous the first gen ford gt was until it went off the market
>tfw used ones now go for $250k more than they did when they were new
>>16718123
>tfw they will never announce the V8 version
>It will weigh 3,054 pounds, a spokesman said.
So what did it originally weight?
>>16718195
I honestly don't see why people are so hung up on this. The 3.5TT is a complete race engine, putting out a lot of power. We put v8s in a lot of things, this time we're building within class rules.
>>16718216
>I honestly don't see why people are so hung up on this.
BECAUSE IT'LL BE EVEN STRONKER
>>16718216
>this time we're building within class rules.
Unfortunately this time we are building within ever tighter restrictions placed by IMSA/FIA. in GT1 everyone used V8s and up (V10/V12s too) and i have a feeling that would still be the case had displacement restrictions and the current rules didn't favor smaller displacement forced induction cars. (not that a turbo V8 isn't possible) but with these rules it is disallowed.
Is the V6 even going to withstand all the boost? Seems like it will be stressed and unreliable
GM BTFO YET AGAIN
>>16718123
>New high-performance competition model!!!
>Still no V8
>>16718260
Ferrari uses a turbo V8 retard
>>16718123
Alrighty then
>>16721000
This, and McLaren.
>>16718123
>GM cuckvette can't beat regular GT
And then ford announces a competition model. How can GM compete?
>not even out yet
>going to get btfo by the new McLaren Super Series
>shit we need to make a faster one so we can salvage this non-starter that will spend more time in the shop than on the road
Lmfao

>Anal prolapse taillights
The standard Ford GT already seems like a barebones track toy.
>no trunk
>no glovebox
>no cup holders
>no door pockets
>non adjustable seats
>carbon fiber and alcantara everywhere
What are they supposed to remove?
>>16722728
another 2 cylinders
>>16722826
>powered by the 2.3 GDTI with the nuts boosted off it and lag to the moon
>>16722853
But that's ok because Nerdburgerring times are all that matters.
>>16722728
>cup holders
In a performance orientated automobile?
The only cup holders these type of cars need is weight saving holes.
>>16722853
>factory antilag system
Ford please do this.
>>16723011
The Raptor already has one, I imagine the Ford GT does too since it's the same engine.
>>16723019
>Production car injecting fuel into the exhaust and fully raping emissions
I think not, bud
>>16723025
It's called baja mode, dumbass.
>>16723011
The Ford GT already has an antilag system.
>>16723034
It just changes shift points you dolt.
>>16723050
>no! it doesn't count!
lol
>>16723069
>An anti-lag system (ALS) or misfiring system is a system used on turbocharged engines to minimize turbo lag on racing cars.
>It works by arranging for fuel and air to be in the exhaust duct after the engine, and before the turbocharger.
>This ignites in the hot ducting and the combustion process that occurs there keeps the turbocharger spinning when the engine is not delivering enough exhaust gas.
It does not have an anti-lag system. In before "I was only pretending to be retarded".
>>16723081
the raptor does tho. stay btfo
>>16723088
Look up Baja mode. I dare you.
>>16723098
yes? and you'll see it has an antilag system
>>16723108
>If I keep pretending long enough he'll believe me
Just look it up.
>>16723114
it has an antilag system. stay mad, retard
>>16723124
>S-shift points a-are equivalent to a-anti-lag
>>16723129
>literally has an antilag system
>b-but
lol, stay mad
>>16723134
>I really really wish it had an antilag, so I'll just pretend it does
>>16723134
>he actually thinks changing the transmission settings is an anti lag system
Kys retard
>>16723148
>i'm getting btfo so i better just keep denying the truth
>>16723153
not an argument
>>16723158
Does the factory Raptor or does it not inject and combust fresh fuel directly into the exhaust before the turbine wheel during shifts and throttle lifts?
That was a rhetorical question.
>>16723169
still has an antilag system.
ford>you
>>16723175
>Ferdfags actually believe this
How can they even compete?
>>16718181
It would be cool, but I doubt it would pass in the pedestrian crash protection unless they manage to grandfather it in
>>16718214
Competition versions of cars only lose like 250lb at the absolute most
>>16723185
by actually winning le mans.

>He fell for marketing abuse of words that mean entirely different things.
It also said antilag-mode instead of system because he KNOWS it's not actual antilag. And you're falling for it hook, line and sinker anyway.
>>16723218
>superior
So superior it hasn't won a race at le mans?
>>16723232
>damage control
>>16723232
>It also said antilag-mode
because its only activated while in a specific mode? you are grasping pretty hard here. stay btfo

Which rule did they break with the V8TT?
