>Tfw you bought an old sports car when you were young, naive and ignorant
>Tfw you spent thousands on buying it, and thousands more on repairs over its life
>Tfw you go to sell it and can barely get anything for it because its so old and riddled with problems
anyone else? I fucking hate myself.

Give it a proper funeral. Strip it for parts and scrap the shell. Youll make way more money, especially if its really an "old sports car". Its what I did with my subaru. Worth only $1200 on local craigslist, worth over $3000 in parts on ebay.

You didn't realize you'd never get your money back from the start?
why would i buy a car and have the intention of selling it if i put that much money into it
buy a car that you like retard
>>16717258
I have neither the time, energy or means for that, unfortunately. I know that it would get me money but I just want this gone and I'm a busy person.

I just thought going into it all that I would buy the car, spend a reasonable amount of money keeping it maintained and then sell it years later when I wanted something else, or needed the money. I had to spend way more than I expected, and I'm getting way less than I expected.
Please, continue to ridicule my dumb ass, it will help teach me a lesson.

>I had to spend way more than I expected, and I'm getting way less than I expected
That's part of being a car enthusiast, unless you get lucky with an appreciating classic car. Lower your expectations bro
>>16717320
yup, my expectations are on the floor these days. Not going to touch sports cars anymore unless I absolutely know I have more than enough money to handle it.
>>16717245
At least you arent a debt slave.
>>16717294
>neither the time, energy or means for that
The buyers do all the work.

what you got m8?

an old STi
>>16717294
I stripped my subaru in my garage, with hand tools, on four jackstands. Then I rent a truck and trailer to dispose if the shell. You could do it in a storage unit if you dont have a garage.
You just sound like a little bitch that got the wrong end of a deal and wants to stop feeling like a loser.
>>16717372
yeah I'm definitely a little bitch who got the wrong end of a deal. Thanks for the advice though.
I bought a 1974 Ford maverick with a straight 6. When I got it it didn't run. Fixed it up drove it around. Got road head in it because of the sweet bench seat. Engine blew while on the highway. Never got it back. Still miss it even though it was a piece of shit.

I call bullshit on your story
Unless youre giving an insane pricetag like a boomer, you should have no problem selling an STi with a rice tax large enough to cover most of your costs.
Can you give me an approximation of your costs and price?
>tfw I bought an old sports car
>tfw dump thousands into it making it better
>tfw after five years the value has risen like mad
>tfw my car is worth twice as much as when I bought it
>>16717386
You underestimate how expensive repairs can be. I live in Canada, so the rice tax is lower on account of the Japanese import market being available to us.
>>16717245
Cars cost money to buy and own. You're either paying monthly to the jew for a new one, or you're paying quarterly for parts/labor to fix the latest fuckup. In no event do you ever get the money back unless you own a rare classic that has appreciated in value.
This isn't a new phenomenon.

what car?
>buy new sportscar
>put many thousands down
>still have payments for a while
>insurance a little more than expected
>hope im still in love with the car after 10 years
