for 10k you can probably find an S so you get the 3.2. I would look for 2001 and below as they had strong IMS bearings.

For 10k you can get an e34 m5 (mabye). Not a sports car, but very sporty.
Maybe an e46. z3 or z4(maybe)

For 10k or under, here's a few:

-Pontiac firebird (finding a manual may be tricky tho)

-Ford Focus SVT

-Mazda MX5/Miata is always a great choice.

-Honda Accord EX V6 (only if it's the manual tho)

-Lexus IS200 or IS250 (mechanical throttle FTW)

-Gen 3 Toyota MR2 (that steering response is godlike)

-Mustang GT (if you don't mind redneck car)

All these are cars from the early 2000's like 00' - 05' and are rather affordable at this point.
