Regardless of looks, the older gens had quite a bit of problems. IMO the latest iterations of the fit are the best.

Newer ones came with a DOHC and a 6 Speed manual

I have an 07 auto and I love it to death. Ride is a bit rough but I drive like a pissed off teenage girl and I still get over 400 km from 32 L of gas in the city.

Also pic related is a 2008 no warning lights on the dash original transmission and engine, only major repair was replacing both CV axles due to noise
