A light on usually indicates that something is.... on. You don't have a "don't check your engine" light so that's why I'm confused.

When the off light is illuminated, as in that picture, overdrive is off.
When the off light is not illuminated, overdrive is on.

Nigger, I think the "OVERDRIVE" is backlit too. So when the "OFF" light is on, the overdrive is off. If the "OVERDRIVE" light is on, the overdrive is on.

When the light isnt illuminated, overdrive is on.
You say this like you dont want to be in overdrive. Unless your towing 24/7, you want O/D on. (Saving gas and all that) Also everytime you start the truck O/D should be on. You have to push the button to turn it off. (Which turns the off light on) You only want to turn it off if you are towing so the transmission doesnt shift too much.
