Yeah CVT auto bullshit. My fault I couldn't drive stick at the time but I've been practicing the past few months on my buddy's old civic. No WRX hatches within about 400 miles of me as I'm in the dumpster-ass part of Texas and no one buys Subies here except young kids with money. (21 here bought it cash lmao kill me)

Bought my 2013 Accord Sport new, I can't think of a better daily car.

Yes, the newer WRXs have a rev hang problem. They may have fixed it for 2017 but I'm going to assume not because Subaru really doesn't give a shit about these things. They let the bucket of rocks that is the 5MT stay in the WRX until 2015 because they couldn't be assed to put the time in to fix one of the weakest points of the car.

Here's my Subaru, pretty much a lifted version of your car but with the 5-speed. It does rev hang which can be annoying and it's pretty damn slow. I'd love to trade it for a 3.6R Outback or a new Colorado 4x4 but they are too pricey. This thing is a beast in the snow though, even on touring tires.
