So I have the chance to buy a 1985 Toyota van with 11,000kms on the clock, body and interior are virtually clean and rust free.
It's been sitting in a garage for the past 16 years. I really like this van in particular because of old school toyotas
But should I bother going for it? I'm not sure what the engine is like and when the last time it was started or turned over.
Should I bother looking at it?
I'm only offering $3000 for it since its unregistered and will need a service

Don't bother. Get a nicer one. Any money you save up front will be spent in the long run.
The engine is going to need work. make fucking sure theres no rust.

I'm leaning towards not getting it but I'm still curious to have a look at an 80's car with 11,000kms on it

With a car that old, you want higher miles than that. Sitting is extremely bad for cars.

if you could get him down to 2k$ you'd have a deal on your hands.
