I need to find out what type of pickup truck engine this is. It was installed in this Buick Skylark in late 60s by Buick dealership after original engine fucked up. How much would it cost to rebuild/replace this engine?

Pic of Skylark
why the fuck is there a generator AND alternator?
>>16691956
twice the power
>>16691956
that's a twin turbo setup dummy
>>16691956
Could be air conditioning.
OP you will have more luck with a VIN decoder.
>>16691956
generator will to run the smog based A/C unit

Clean the engine block off and look for a serial or casting number, it will be stamped into the casting somewhere.
Skylark? Neat.
>>16691956
That's the way it used to be, two separate units
>>16691863
Chevy small block of some sort. Look for a build plate.
>>16691863
Reuse that engine.
>>16691863
That's an Ls1
>>16691863
Since it isnt the original motor anyway, why not just price a Chevy crate engine?
>>16691956
the big black cylinder is the a/c compressor. the other one is the turbo. GM was ahead of its time and didn't need an alternator.
>>16692250
nah the black one is the supercharger, most cars this old didn't come standard with A/C

Engine in pic is a 350 Buick and Buick engines were not installed in trucks then, so the story they told is bs.

severely underrated post
