Most cars made in the GDR are purely shit, but well since not much people anyways got their cars I guess it's ok.
What grieves me the most is that GDR was the silicon valley of the whole eastern block, first computer ever built, technology centres in cities like Jena etc. And that all is lost due to incompetent elites.
They even invented the first all electric car but the project got shut down by the gouverment.

By some standards the cars might be shit, but plenty of people got along with them and plenty of them are even still on the road. The sad part about is that they simply vanished instead of being improved, probably the only notable exception being the Multicar.

But this inevitably happens when you forcefully isolate population from outside world and influences.

But although limited resources even the bit they had was all pumped into the military and due to the superiority of the Soviet Union this only led to little to no innovation in those sectors.
Also the best eastern block vehicle where the CZ and Simson scooters.
