>Driving home last night my check engine light came on BLINKING
>I killed the engine immediately and pulled to the side of the road
>Pop hood: No Noises, No smells, no sign of fluids
>I restarted the car and the light was off so I drove home
Why the fuck would it do that? I got so spooked I'm literally gonna sell my car now
It says check engine
>he literally checked the engine
get an obd2 reader man.

shoulda had the car towed, your car is probably toast now, haha
It's probably some dumb sensor going off, like the gas cap isn't sealed correctly. Your best bet is to go to an autoshop and ask them to scan your cars OBD2. They'll most likely do it for free

90% sure this is a joke, if not, OP, stop being retarded

>He doesn't know what a blinking CEL means
I'm asking why would it start blinking
And then when I restart the car it's not on?
ECU malfunction?
>>16689177
There are no codes, the CEL isn't on right now. Maybe I am retarded, how do I check the codes, if there are no codes to check?
If it was flashing that indicates a misfire or way rich condition, or something that has the potential to dump a bunch of raw fuel into the cat and burn it up.
CEL Solid: Somethings fucky
CEL Blinking: Somethings fucky, and if you ignore me, even more stuff is going to potentially fuckied.

You only nees to worry immediately if it says STOP ENGINE.
>>16689212
Thanks anon, this makes sense.
I'm pretty sure my cats have been fucked for the past couple years but my car is a beater and continues to pass emissions so I've just said fuck it.

Just because the light is off doesn't mean their aren't any codes dipshit the ecu stores fault codes in the memory that's why there are current and past codes on cars.
