It's probably some dumb sensor going off, like the gas cap isn't sealed correctly. Your best bet is to go to an autoshop and ask them to scan your cars OBD2. They'll most likely do it for free

There are no codes, the CEL isn't on right now. Maybe I am retarded, how do I check the codes, if there are no codes to check?

If it was flashing that indicates a misfire or way rich condition, or something that has the potential to dump a bunch of raw fuel into the cat and burn it up.
