Absolutely hate my ER6n, really regret selling my Speed Four but there are no good condition ones anywhere near by.

Got a good deal on two bikes but but looking for some input off people who know what they are talking about.

Aprilia Tuono Fighter, or also toying with the idea of a Triumph Daytona 955i

Anyone got any personal experience with either of these two bikes in general?

Really want rid of my ER6n, I've tried to grow to like it but we're just not enjoying each other, both spiritually and sexually I guess.
>>

I own a tuono, it's amazing. Literally the only con I've found about it is how hot the engine gets. Torque is great, I wouldn't trade it for any other bike on the market.

Not sure what you want to know about it, but I can answer any questions you have.

Between those two, Tuono, if you want a Triumph go for something later like a speed triple 1050 or Daytona 675, the 955 was pretty outdated by 2000.

Gs500 was my first bike. Got a good deal and it was easy to work on. I got a chance to ride an acquaintances fz-07 a few years later and it was a blast and I was in a good position financially to drop on a newer bike so I went for it

Must admit I've toyed with the idea but have heard that you spend more time looking for petrol stations than riding the bike. I've had nothing but nightmares with all the hondas ive owned so a bit wary.
>>
>>16686820
Only thing that tends to go on them is something called the brown connector which connects the stator to the system. Tends to heat up and melt, most owners just splice the wires together the first time it goes out and never worry about it again. It was already fixed when I bought mine. It also burns through stators every now and then, it's pretty hard on electricity with 4 headlights and a constant anti theft system.

It has a rotax engine, so it's fairly reliable. Engine doesn't have any common issues that I've heard of. Some people use RSV's as touring bikes because of the reliability which is strange considering it's Italian.

Handles great, kind of hard to explain. Wants to throw you off into a ditch with the power but handles like rails anyways. I have factory suspension installed on mine, never used it stock but it's very confidence inspiring. Has the same everything as the RSV but higher bars and less fairings.
>>
>>16686852
>I've had nothing but nightmares with all the hondas ive owned so a bit wary.
Really? What Hondas have you owned?
>>
>>16686876
Cbf250 way back, had a 99 cbr600, have had an st1100 as well as an nt650v. Each one had its fair share of issues, some major. All the bikes were tidy examples too which surprised me as I started with Honda due to their reliability, guess I just have shit luck.
>>
>>16686873
Cheer's for that, sounds ideal, have had a sit one before a few years back and felt right at home on it, will check it out and see what happens. Then time to sell the ER6n.
>>
>>16686912
Good luck, if you can find a nice deal on one you won't regret it.

Last thread turned into a shit show.
There are no freeways where I live, and if I have to ride along pic related all the time, a CBR250R or a Ninja 250 SL should be perfect right?

Please don't turn this into another dual sport/road bike because I swear I will get a scooter and I will post here everyday.

I'm not into sportbikes, I want an upright seating position that isn't a cruiser.

Even if the CB650f existed where I live, at that point I'd just buy the superior SV650 which costs I think almost as much.

I wanted to save shekels by buying the cheaper less powerful CB500.

thats exactly what the cbr650f is, what about it being the same bike as the cb650f only with fairings don't you understand?
for a less upright seating position you would have to install clip ons.

The 500F is an economy bike first and a restricted bike second. The 400SF is a restricted bike first and nothing else second, which is why it's only produced for Japan where people never get their large bike license and exported to cuntland.

the cb400sf is not restricted at all, it is designed to sell to a market that wants 400cc bikes as top of the line.

But you are right, the bike that is more powerful, has better brakes and is more fuel efficient is the bike designed to be a restricted bike.

Is also why honda makes them too powerful for eurofags to ride.

>It's nice to have, same with everything else in your life that you don't /need/.
The P2 has a finger print reader.
Also I checked which company Lenovo bought, it's Motorola. Not the worst company in the world.

There are much cheaper phones that can make great pictures. The lumia 950 has a camera that's better than the iPhone 7 and costs €350

I'm sure it's a great bike, they're probably all amazing bikes compared to what was on the market 10 years ago which is why I think they're always all blown away when they're riding them.

Just want a motorcycle version of top gear where if the bike is shit they'll just make fun of it and rag on it like they should. 44teeth is actually my favourite reviewing site because they're better than 99% but still meh.

Look at this one for example: http://www.cycleworld.com/2015/04/20/ducati-scrambler-icon-vs-triumph-scrambler-motorcycle-review-comparison-test-photos-specifications

The ducati blows it out of the water in almost every regard and is cheaper, but they still don't say the triumph is a worse bike because of 'feels'. 'Feels' to me that they're too chickenshit to make some people have buyers remorse and get triumph mad at them.
>>

>5s

No, dated android flagships are the best, so long as you make sure you get a factory unlocked model with an easy root/bootunlock procedure. I used to be an iOS jailbreak fag and the difference for incredibly basic things like just wanting a program that the app store tzars don't think you should install and full OS backups is night and day. Lagdroid isn't as sleek looking when you use it, and normal people who don't know/care about computers never get security updates, and the NSA could probably crack it slightly easier and find your terrorist plots, but it's much more functional.

>>16687914

Gets about 200 to 250km to a tank so its not that shit. Crazy torque curve, good handling though it feels bigger in the rear than the front so more of a push through corners though that might just be because I haven't got the suspension set up for my weight yet.

Only real complaint is I'm 6'2" and its a little too sport seat position for me.

nah you're dreaming you're just not remembering it's happened, probably because you wake up, look at the alarm and think fuck, another day so you don't take a moment to reflect.

If you start writing down your dreams on a little notepad when you wake up, I guarantee after a week or so you'll have no trouble "dreaming" insomuch as you'll actually be remembering them now.
>>
>>16688169
It's a matter of training. If you can spare a half hour in the morning, put some paper and a pen next to your bed. As soon as you remember even a single thing, write it down. Even if it's just "I rode a bike somewhere", it's a start. It might take a couple of weeks but you'll remember more and more. I've gotten back into the habit of writing my dreams down last summer and now I write like 2 or 3 A5 pages every day. Therapeutic, and fun / interesting to re-read a few years down the line. I found my old dream journal from 2010 and holy shit did I have freaky dreams sometimes.
Also you can then start trying to lucid dream which is dope.
>>
>>16688184
Last year I do remember having a couple of days where I remembered the dream for a little while. One was even good.

>>16688185
If I recall dreaming I think about it when I wake up; always have. It's rare anymore, though.
>>
>>16688192
you are not sleeping without dreaming I guarantee you, try this notepad thing if only to prove us wrong and you really just are in a void at night because it'll work and you now have a positive outcome.
>>
>>16688192
Sometimes it can take a few minutes of collecting your thoughts and reflecting. Like some nights I wake up and can't remember shit because I woke up in the middle of the night, was too lazy to write my dreams down and went back to sleep. Then I hop under the shower and go through some of the dreams I remember from earlier that week, or that I had long ago, or just think about shit I did that week and BAM suddenly I remember one image from the dream. Write it down. While writing remember more shit.
Also it takes some self-conditioning. Your attitude should be "I WILL remember my dreams tomorrow".
Also how you wake up will make a difference. If you can, try to skip watching TV in the evening or shitposting and go to bed an hour or 2 earlier so you can wake up before your alarm wakes you up. Alternatively, set your alarm to 2 1/2 hours before you have to get up. Wake up, go back to sleep. Odds are good your dreams in that time will be more vivid and you can remember them easier.

>>16688201
He never said he doesn't dream, just that he can't remember them.
>>
>>16688201
I don't doubt that I enter REM sleep. I just don't remember anything about dreaming.

>>16688211
My sleep habits are pretty well fucked. I work nights on 10.5 to 12 hour shifts. And, bizarrely, if I go to bed before the sun comes up then I get only 4 or 5 hours of sleep. I'll wake up, be wide awake, and be incapable of going back to sleep for a long time. On a somewhat positive note, that means I can go out to eat before work or something.

What? Never heard of bodyweight workouts? You don't need equipment to exercise.
>>16688475
I said I'm not going to do ALL that, not that it's incorrect or I don't wanna exercise.
I can already do pull/chin ups to train the upper part of the body and add something specific for the back and legs. My back hurts because I might have problems so I wanna put on some muscles and see if it gets better.
>>
>>16688508
>You don't need equipment to exercise.
don't need a vehicle to go from cape to cairo, either.

in any case, if you're not already sedentary, the benefits from what you can accomplish with bodyweight for your riding will be so small compared to the benefits of additional riding that it doesn't really matter what you do.
>>
>>16688508
NO

do dynamic spinal flossing stretches.

torrent "Magnificent mobility" and do them shits every morning.
>>
>>16688530
I don't think you have any idea of you can achieve with no equipment.
Bronson didn't use any equipment to train and I'm pretty sure he'd beat your sorry ass and the one of the average gym user.
>>16688550
I can ALSO do that.
>>
>>16688476
go innawoods, hike, jog, pick shit up throw shit around roll logs around and so on.
cardio and overall conditioning is more important than specific parts of fitness.
otherwise look up the routines guys like travis pastrana do to stay up for riding.
>>

Bronson has lived in isolation most of his adult life,
24h/ day every day for years.

Do you think it's enough to brake using one finger?

Somehow I can use two fingers for the clutch but I don't seem to be able to use the throttle and have two fingers on the brake at the same time. I also don't seem to be able to move the finger back on the handle without upsetting the throttle, nevermind two.

Do you think it might be related to the fact that the gloves are too large? Damn they're such great gloves and I've paid them €100 but I think my riding would improve a lot if I got a more fitting pair. It's just that there's no place where I live with a selection of gear, I'd have to wait a bit to make a 200km trip to a megastore when the weather is better. I still need pants and boots as well.
>>
>>16688877
It doesn't matter. It's all personal preference. Some motoGP riders even brake with 3 or 4 fingers despite having very strong brakes. Just make sure that your fingers not on the lever won't get pinched and keep you from pulling it all the way in.
>>
>>16688877
As
>>16688887
said, it's all your technique. I've used two fingers and kept them extended for long enough that it feels normal. I've also been a computer dork since I was little and my third and fourth fingertips on my right hand are usually curled back or are more or less vertical.
>>
>>16688887
>>16689113
Yeah but you think I have enough strength with one finger to make an emergency brake?

Also what do you think about the gloves matter?
>>
>tfw just met Ichiban Moto
Should I put bread on him and take a picture?
>>
>>16689153
That's kind of a personal answer, only you can answer that. Is your one finger sufficient enough? When I ride, I use two fingers normally, but in an emergency braking situation my subconscious reaction is to use all four fingers.

>>16689160
Put 5/5 ichiban Moto stickers on him

I also have summer and winter gloves. The summer ones are heavier and stiffer, but offer more protection.
Am looking into buying really soft and thin gloves next to that, already knows which ones, but they are €100. But with those I have the full Gendarmerie suit.
>>
>>16689248
I can't recall the model, but my summer gloves are Alpinestars partly leather, partly mesh and with impact and abrasion pads as well as a pretty decent knuckle protector. Unless you're in the Spanish desert, our definition of summer is a bit different; I have to contend with 30C+ temps and as high as 46C.

It is usually dry in the place I'm referring to. Southern New Mexico. I live in Iowa now so the highs aren't nearly so toasty but it's a good bit more humid usually. I did grow up in Florida so I can deal with it.

Lazerhawk, Kavinsky, other retrowave, sometimes vidya gaem music (FFVI: Balance and Ruin, for example), Rush, other classic rock, etc.

Fuck, I hated doing long rides from Corvallis to Portland (85 or so miles) in mid summer in Oregon. 105 degrees and like 85 percent humidity literally a shit. I would soak a t-shirt, freeze it, put it on right out of the freezer and it would be bone dry by the time I'd have gone like 6 miles.

Any norwegians here? I want a bike so bad, had a few 50cc before and loved them all. Why is it so fucking expensive to own a bike here. Is it even worth at all? It gets cold and wet all the time, but for the first time in years im seriously considering getting a drivers license and buying a bike, since i have the money and time.
Any advice? I dont have a car cause i really dont need one, everything is a walking distance away, even university, and i dont really like cars but i do know how to fix most stuff(learned from dad) but i do have a car drivers license

ive got an oil leak on my suzuki gs 500, its one of the small bolts underneath the engine on the right side of the bike

how much could it cost getting it fixed at a dealers?
is a oil leak normal and how much of a leak is too much? i had to top it up after about 2 months
are things like using black silicone on the outside of the leak or using an oil additive on the inside worth trying?

yeah i tried to tighten all the bolts surrounding it and they are stiff, which i think means its the rubber parts inside that are faulty, do you know if the black silicone stuff just needs to be put around the leaky parts?

Honestly for 2-up and highway duty you want a liter+. You can do it on the smaller displacement bikes [I went 2-up a couple times on my old KLX300] but the liter bikes are much better suited for it. 2-up and "middleweight" don't really jive.

ok lads

2002 sv650s

runs bretty gud up to ~80mph or so, minimal choke on startup, none at all if it's warm, inline fuel filter

at around 80 indicated, lying flat on the tank, I can have the throttle pinned and it just won't go any faster, like it's topped out.

but that's kinda slow

so what's the deal?
