Is Kia really becoming the new Toyota?
Are Forte's and Optima's really as reliable as camry's and corollas?

hyundai use to be as reliable as Toyota, can't really speak for them today
I know a few sonatas with 400k miles on them and they are still going strong
They're honestly getting better. Back in the 90s they were pretty shit, with really horrible build quality and safety standards. In the mid-00s they seemed to fix that pretty well. That being said, they're still boring fwd shitboxes.

Hyundai is doing damn well honestly. Their cars seem to get better and better.
I'm so upset, there was this 2005 corolla with 70k for £2500 (I think) near me recently and now it's gone.. I really need a reliable car but I just don't know what else I can get at my low budget at like £3000 maximum :'(
If only their were some sort of automotive publications that dealt in product dependability.
Some type of 'reports for consumers' if you will.
Since nothing like that exists, i guess we'll never know.

Can't get something like a mk3 Golf? My dad has a Passat from the same era, 2.slow 8v, 4-speed auto and manual everything else and the thing's been rock solid for as long as he's had it besides a few sensors going bad here and there.

Check forte parts, many are interchangeable and the Forte is more sporty orientated.
