How is the vvti version of the GE?
I used to own a supra with a non-vvti GE, always wondered how it compares, is it noticeable when it kicks in?
Also I don't miss having to change those spark plugs on the GE
K24Z3 is powering my shitbox
I wanted a J35Z3 instead since it only gets 2mpg less with nearly 100hp more, but I guess a timing chain instead of belt is nice and if I want to be a faggot I can drop in a supercharger for 60hp more for $3k and tune it for premium fuel for $300.
>>16666408
>US
Yes.
Plenty of roads, way too much traffic.
>>16666446
Whats good.
I'm loving the GE as it's super smooth. But yeah the vvti is def noticeable.
She sings after you hit ~3.5k and whether its that lovely raspy exhaust note, or the odd body style, I get thumbs up and folks at stop lights saying they like my ride.
>>16666446
VVTI isn't like VTech - it's continuously variable valve timing and not valve lift. It's supposed to increase efficiency and power across the entire rev range as opposed to suddenly shifting over to a different cam profile.
That being said, I had an IS300 with the 2JZ-GE with VVT-i and it's fun as hell to rev out. It's a different experience from most modern turbo cars since it just keeps building power all the way to redline - it also has no problems getting you to the speed limiter.
It also sounds amazing when you're driving through a tunnel.

THE GR8EST HONDA ENGINE EVER THE MIGHTY D15Z1
When the universe finally approaches the final entropy, the universal heat death, when the last flickering star dimms and the last light of the universe vanishes, when at last all is still and quiet and all mater and energy are equalized, there at last in the darkness will rumble one last LS V8 engine raging against the dying of the light. There at the end of time God will smile upon the glory of his greatest creation Deus Ex Machina. The small block at the center of the dead universe refuses to stop turning. It's mechanical perfection surpasses even the power of its creator and slowly it churns the heat of its metal against the dark dead clouds of the heavens. Building and gaining momentum and reversing the entropy until the universe is born anew.

Now the car is 20 years old and has had some plastic parts break would it be ok to do the hose down method? I am worriod about the water effecting already brittle plastic hoses and parts etc. I might just bring an air blower thing I have to blow out the little leaves and things. 2 liters distributed across 4 cylinders of non-crossflow, 2 valves per cylinder turbodiesel fury, which at one time held the dubious claim of producing 85 horsepower and 165 foot pounds of torks. Famous for cracking cylinder heads, and with a bit of a reputation for water pump cavitation, it nonetheless still works remarkably well after 20 years and 110 or so thousand miles of somewhat neglectful treatment in an area where temperatures rarely fall below 27°C and routinely reach 40°C
Parts are rare, as is information, but thankfully it is renown in the few circles that have ever known about it for quite good reliability, as long as it's not overheated or boosted to hell and back
