I'll start off, AE82 Twin Cam steering wheel
>>16665026
secon gen Scion tC has an amazing wheel.
>stereo controls
>cruise control
>HUGE thick rim
>flat bottom because race car
The 80s-90s C/K
>>16665026
It's rad, but an airbag would be nice.
What makes one steering wheel superior to another?
>>16665026
Puegot 308.
>>16665040
It's the 80's, what is an air bag?
>>16665040
Airbags are the antithesis to good looking steering wheels though.
Sierra RS
>>16665040
what are you some kind of pussy??
Mk6 gti steering wheel. Big beefy grips, great feel, nice controls, and accent stitching.
>>16665061
Said no one ever.
>>16666429
can confirm this is a good one
>>16666432
One example of a good looking steering wheel with an airbag doesn't change the fact that steering wheels without airbags generally look better than ones with.
>>16665026
Austin Allegro
They called it "quadratic"
>>16666429
Shame they ruined it with the mk7, all of the beefiness and perforated leather is gone, there aren't even 10 and 2 grips on them anymore.
>>16666460
You wouldn't be thinking about that when you rear end a crossover and you get a fistful of hard plastic.
>>16666460
Maybe back when airbags were new, as time goes on airbags are getting smaller and less obscenely intrusive.
>>16666517
I'm not saying anything about safety. Obviously steering wheels with airbags are safer.
The new BMW m-performance steering wheels look pretty nice
>>16665026
RSX wheel best wheel
>comfy
>grippy
>small enough to make you feel like a race car driver
>looks good
Only downside is that if it gets cold it stays cold so gloves are required during the winter
>>16666471
Truly terrible automobile
single prong steering wheel > every other wheel
I like the Nardi wheel in my MX5. Could maybe do with being a little smaller though
>>16666569
Honda makes (made) nice wheels
Pic related Accord coupe wheel, same points but bigger diameter good for comfort
Fucking love this.
>>16667201
Nearly flawless interior IMO.
>>16667276
curious
what, in your opinion, is a flaw?
>>16667201
Clean looking that, i feel a bit jelly
70's Ford sport wheel
Why did Toyota make such nice steering wheels?
I wish mine wasn't as worn out as it is.
>>16667201
That's nice.
Does anyone else really dislike modern interiors?
I've been shopping for a new car for literally years now and I honestly cannot stomach anything.
I pine for the days of my old 180sx, just a super clean and simple interior.
Also I feel like airbags have completely ruined steering wheel design for me.
>>16666548
>>16665048
Shit like this makes me want to puke.
>>16667502
sperged and forgot pic
>>16667530
indeed
i hate how every automaker tries to turn their steering wheel into a fucking modern art piece
>>16665033
Literally looks like some chink shit stereo from the early 2000's
>>16667593
Post Modern Art steering wheels are where it's at.
>>16667634
>>16667595
well considering the factory stereo headunits in Scion cars were all made by Pioneer...
>>16667634
Is there something wrong with me if I genuinely like this?
>>16667634
Very nice retro game feel/10
>>16667644
>You will never own a Renault 5 Turbo
It's a bad kind of feel.
I'm not sure what it is with Renault and making interiors that literally look like toddlers toys, but I un-ironically like it.
>>16667683
French interiors used to be fucking bonkers
>Citroen CX and its drum dials
>Citroen's former signature single prong steering wheels in the DS, CX, 2CV, AX, SM
>Matra Bagheera and its all-vertical controls
>Renault Avantime's whole interior
>>16666460
Wrong.
>>16667795
>Matra Bagheera
Whenever I see these I always picture a little gnome or pixie or something using the steering wheel as a seat and casually hurling abuse at the driver.
>>16667821
Thats not even the nice FC steering wheel
>>16667795
I'm pretty sure the Twingo's seats were literally upholstered with the carpet from my primary school.
>>16667634
It could be cool but the grey just does not match with the red and blue.
Subaru XT
>How to make a dash
>Start with slab of plastic
>Proceed to drill holes for every instrument/light you need
>>16667665
>Very nice retro game feel/10
This what you want Anon.
I will never regret not selling my Starion.
>>16667883
I need this in my life.
>>16667905
Of course you do
>>16667188
Fuck yeah they do. They partnered with momo for the R-type wheel and even with the airbag it's pretty damn sexy.
Infini wheel is sex
>>16667913
I came.
>>16668015
>that flacid dick shifter
>>16667883
That's a funny looking gearstick.
>>16667815
I have that one, garbage leather wrap.
>>16667887
And don't forget the mandatory
>fuel pressure, oil pressure and oil temperature gauges in front of you
>rev and speed on the sides
fucking Lancia
>>16667887
This triggers my trypophobia.
>>16667901
I hate those. The Eclipse steering wheel looks, and fits better.
>>16667901
Superior starion wheel
>>16667527
I hate wheels with the pillars at the bottom like that.
>make turn
>hands frantically try to find where the fuck the wheel is centered to put your hands back where they should be
>>16668034
Holy fucking shit what year is that?? I must have it!
>>16668211
>>16665046
Aesthetics, grip bolsters, thickness, shape, materials, that's pretty much the basics
>>16668207
I guess you'll have to stick to autist proof wheels then.
>>16668148
>>16668261
Man those seats look great as well.
Fuck.
I need to sell my car and buy some old 80's/90's nippon steel.
>>16666569
>>16667188
>>16667834
>>16667979
All of these, good answers boys. I have a '13 Si, love the wheel. It's sporty, small, yet I can steer with one finger at low speeds.
>>16668030
rack mounted hi fi
>that's my fetish
>>16668117
Sweet Jeebus it looks like the right side of that dash had a stroke. Is it OK?
>>16668496
>>16666460
that minaturised airbag has been around about 5 years, and by now is fitted to pretty much everything worth a shit
Factory equalizer in the Berlinetta Boxer
>>16667201
Agreed, love my steering wheel.
>>16667276
hahhahahaa
>>16668514
>>16668527
oh god dam
suppose I just like the convenience of each function having its own button
loved the early-mid 2000's S4 steering wheels. They had a good girth to them.
>>16670015
pervert
>>16665026
okay
>>16665033
shit, shit controls.
>>16665048

>>16667530
You have shit taste please kill yourself my man.
>All this cuck shit
>>16667530
>shit taste
>posts nissans best attempt at an inteior
>seats came fucked from the factory
>dash cracked after the first time it saw sunlight
Fuck nissan builds shitty shit
>>16667201
Hey my Corolla has that
Sorry guys, gonna have to end this thread.
/thread
>>16665040
Why would you want unnecessary weight?
>>16667530
Take your weeb shitbox and throw it in the trash along with your opinion. Those wheels are beautiful and worth more than you.
>>16667530
I mean, those interiors are fine if you love hard plastics and everything feeling cheaply made.
Get some fucking taste.
>>16667634
Literally anyone who likes this is showing their autism. This looks like if Thomas the tank engine shat on the interior of a car.
the steering wheel from the M2/M4 is simply great. Doesn't look like anything amazing but the grip and the feel is just amazing
>>16667848
That explains why /o/ loves this autismobile
>>16666515
Should have made the grip look like
>>16667823 instead, then it would have been perfect. As is, the wheel itself is too thin, and the grips are barely there.
>>16665026
>not posting superior AE86 wheel
>>16670938
I don't see a difference.
>>16670954
LC500
I'm not sure if the steering wheel is neat or as clusterfuckey as the rest.
>>16670416
Man that shit is nasty.
>>16670983
That whole interior looks unbelievably tacky.
The shifter is literally the only thing that isn't awful.
>>16670998
when you sit in one irl you certaibly don't think "this is unbelievably tacky"
Not even joking
If I could replace my daily's wheel with the wheel of the Humvee I had in Afghanistan in '11, I'd be happier than a boot with a DD31 in hand
>>16670983
>fleshlight mount on the seats
>>16668088
stop
>>16670161
nice bait, it worked really well
fite me
>>16670995
>carbon fiber
>yellow stitching on black leather
>engine start button on the wheel
>all important controls moved from behind wheel to on it
>horn on the perimeter so no need to move hands
>classic black and yellow Ferrari logo
What's not to like you fucking plebeian.
Not sure if best, but I sure as hell want it.
>>16671198
Literally everything you said.
>>16671189
>>16671303
How are you supposed to whip corners when the wheel isn't perfectly round?
>>16671310
What the fuck does that even mean you faggot?
Nobody uses the bottom of the wheel, so it doesn't matter what shape it is.
>>16671109
Fuck HMMWV steering wheels. They make your hands hurt and crampy after 3-4 hours. Especially the old style ones.
>>16671189
muh dick
great choice mate, you really can't go wrong with that small circular airbag cover style.
pic related, I'm glad suzuki is copying this style as well
>>16670938
>AE85
A lot of what everyone has posted look amazing, but I like function over form.
Surprisingly, one of the nicest steering wheels I've experienced from the 24 cars that I've owned over was in my 2013 Honda CRZ.
>Great ergonomics
>Modern styling
>Good materials
>>16670938
what's the 4th pedal for?
plebs fuck off
Based e39 M-sport wheel. comfy, looks nice,grippy.
Nardi
>>16668148
Hi
>>16672643
It's the dead pedal.
How would my wheel rate?
>1985 CRX Si
Really underrated interior.
>>16670416
>taste
>posts a pleb-tier Ferrari
>>16667201
That's an interior I can only dream of, jesus
>>16666521
>>16672668

>>16667156
Pretty neat-o
The rest are pretty boring

>>16667901
>>16667905
>>16668034
>>16670938
how is it that the 80's interiors look so futuristic but this new shit doesn't at all
Not mine, the interior is dirtier
Was surprisingly not a fan of this wheel
Material actually sort of hurt my skin
And the audio / cruise buttons were so inconveniently placed I had to basically take my hand off the wheel to do it
>>16672586
What makes you say that?
>>16677106
The gauge cluster, only the AE85 had that digital gauge cluster. AE86 only has the analog one. There is also no pop-up headlight symbol on the headlight switch.
Wheel is godly, and interior is actually surprisingly comfy for how bare it is.
Its just a comfy wheel tbvh
>>16667530
that slope kinda throws me off but i can digg
I enjoy my slightly driver oriented interior
pic related my SW20
>>16679136
FUCCCKKKKKK I MISS MY MAZDA 3
such a comfy and surprisingly nimble car.
Im not back to DD my SW20 and its kinda annoying when i don't feel like going full racecar
>>16679574
Yeah for an econobox the chassis is remarkably well tuned. Throw in the 2.3L and 5 speed and its a surprisingly fun little car
>>16679598
yup mine (pic related) was the 2.3L 5speed. I wanted to get an exhaust and maybe a few bolt ons for it but the aftermarket was damn near nonexistant.
I remember asking a bunch of my normie friends to guess what year the car was based on the interior when they sat in it, for all thought it was 2008-2012
>>16679624
Yeah people are surprised when I tell them the design is from ~2003.
If it wasn't for the rust issues on earlier models, I'd say they aged really well
>>16679079
You're a fucking retard.
Digidash was an option for the AE86.
>>16674201
hnnng
>>16666666
>>16666429
I like the mkv wheel but I've never touched a newer one.
>>16667650
Supposedly people who think red and blue look good together are prone to mental issues. I'm not trying to insult you I don't mean retardation I heard it was psychopathy or a personality disorder. Red and another color would look good, and blue and another color would look good, but and red and blue just doesn't do anything for me.
rate me
>>16667821
Holy shit my childhood.
>>16670478
I hate those golfball shift knobs.
>>16670983
I've never laughed at a cars interior before.
>>16665068
can't believe someone posted this. I had a 2.0i, and it was great (and fucked). The steering wheel felt so proper and nice... the steering was noticeably better than modern fwd vehicles of course... even my current 97 civic feels like shit when compared.
whet I cant believe is nobody mentioning omps. a friend has one on his 106 sport and feels really cool. I want it for my gf's next car, for sure (aiming for a 1.4 saxo vts with un-assisted steering... oh god that feel...)

>>16666457
>>16666521
>>16667540
I'm going to have to say 'No' to bare steel spokes with squared corners. Catch a rut or a curb, the wheel whips and you'd better get your thumbs out of the wheel. Or lose them.
>>16673233
unnecessarily large pic/10
E30 Mtech 1
Best wheel I've ever used. I miss my E30 every day.
I hate most aftermarket steering wheels, but Italvolantis are great.
I have a 1985 Celica GT-S with the stock 2-spoke steering wheel. The only steering wheels I'll consider are factory Toyota ones like from an AE86 or a Celica GT-TR or something like an Italvolanti. I'll probably just keep the factory one though since I hate wheel adapters.

>>16687013
That interior is fucking perfect.
>>16667201
please stop ill be getting one next month
>>16687025
It's nowhere near as tidy as it looks in that picture unfortunately.
>>16667530
If you're bitching about crazy overcomplicated modern interiors then you should get a WRX.
Some people complain that it's too austere, but it's actually a pretty nice place to be - super simple.
>>16687051
Is that a seca or hatchback? got anymore photos?
>>16687114
Seca.
